Delightful cottage in peaceful village, with good links to lots of places of interest. However, not enough attention to some aspects of cleaniness. Nine out of the ten pillows provided were filthy. Two duvets stained, with blood and urine. One dirty mattress cover. And only four pillow protectors provided, all of which were dirty. Meat pan, oven tray and frying pan were very rusty and couldn't be used. I bought a new chopping board, as the one provided was awful and went staight in the bin. We paid £100 to take four dogs, but trying to keep the garden cleared of dog poo was difficult, as the lawn had not been cut, the grass being 4 to 6 inches high. I wasn't going to comment, either in this review or in the visitors book, as I felt sympathetic to the owner, due to her advancing years, but as a paying customer and an owner of two holiday cottages, and one who is very much the wrong side of sixty, I think any holiday accommodation provided and paid for, must meet some standards and unfortunately this accommodation didn't meet them.

Only thing missing was a local pub, that was 5 miles away. It was a perfect place to stay, we will be back.

The Stables was a lovely cottage with a great garden at the back, Jack and Jill the shetland ponies in the neighbouring field were delightful. I went to this cottage with my elderly parents and my dad is disabled and unable to walk without aid, the bedroom downstairs and the adjoining bathroom were brilliant for them, the beds upstairs, however, were really uncomfortable and creaked when you moved which did spoil our holiday a bit because my friend and I found it difficult to sleep. This was a good cottage but could be great with new beds upstairs and new garden furniture and a little tlc. The owner of the cottage was a lovely lady and very friendly. I choose this type of holiday because of my parents and the only reason I would not come again is because they found it difficult away from their home with all the equipment necessary to make their life easier ( also the settee was very low and they could not get up from it). Harton is a lovely little village with lots of lovely walks which was great for the dogs and it was lovely to see them scampering about having fun. This review is based on my circumstances and feel this would ideal for families with lots of places to visit in the near vicinity.
