Only thing missing was a local pub, that was 5 miles away. It was a perfect place to stay, we will be back.

The Stables was a lovely cottage with a great garden at the back, Jack and Jill the shetland ponies in the neighbouring field were delightful. I went to this cottage with my elderly parents and my dad is disabled and unable to walk without aid, the bedroom downstairs and the adjoining bathroom were brilliant for them, the beds upstairs, however, were really uncomfortable and creaked when you moved which did spoil our holiday a bit because my friend and I found it difficult to sleep. This was a good cottage but could be great with new beds upstairs and new garden furniture and a little tlc. The owner of the cottage was a lovely lady and very friendly. I choose this type of holiday because of my parents and the only reason I would not come again is because they found it difficult away from their home with all the equipment necessary to make their life easier ( also the settee was very low and they could not get up from it). Harton is a lovely little village with lots of lovely walks which was great for the dogs and it was lovely to see them scampering about having fun. This review is based on my circumstances and feel this would ideal for families with lots of places to visit in the near vicinity.

Disappointed really. Had such hopes. Cottage itself was lovely but it was dirty and rundown. Outside was full of weeds, a broken BBQ which was dangerous and broken chairs. one if the outside door lock was broken albeit fixed shortly after. Kitchen was dirty. The fridge had shelves which were sellotaped and dirty inside. Freezer was also dirty. The bin lid had food stuck to it which was mouldy. The kettle was so full of scale we had to use a tealeaf strainer when pouring the water. The majority of furniture was so outdated (1970's maybe) the upstairs beds were still metal sprung bases. I had sore hips from the mattress metal springs. The sofabed was so uncomfortable it affected my back problem. Downstairs bathroom was dirty and there was a smell of stale urine and the shower was broken although it was fixed on our last day. The downstairs bed was lumpy and also smelled of urine. The washing machine was mouldy. We had an infestation of flying ants crawling up the wall. It would benefit from a total refurbishment.
