Cottage nice but could easily be improved. As commented by others sofa is very uncomfortable and needs replacing, wardrobe needs mending and basin in bathroom is badly cracked. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay, the cottage is ideally located to see the whole of this area. We would definitely stay there again.

Great location, plenty to do and see. Lovely cottage, clean and had everything that was needed. Hot tub was an excellent added extra and well needed after a day filled with activities. Would definitely recommend.

Our experience following our stay at the stables was totally ruined, as we felt totally duped & mislead, we were expecting a beautiful cottage as shown in the photos of the cottage, but what we actually got was a tiny annex to the back of the original cottage. This cottage was extremely uncomfortable, bed was terribly uncomfortable & the sofa was much worse, owners are aware of this as we were offered extra cushions which didn't help any at all, it was far too low & very lumpy We were unable to use the hot tub due to people staying in the main cottage as there was approx 7 people staying & they had their names down on the board everyday, in fact we saw the children using hot tub unsupervised & jumping & diving in & out of it, plus it was quite a walk away from our annexe & also unlit in the evening In total I would not recommend this cottage to anybody especially people with walking disability Some of the crockery & pans were dirty, also old condiments left in the cupboard which were well past their dates We couldn't hang our clothes up as wardrobe was broken, shower was very slippy & extremely tiny Only good thing was owners who appeared nice & friendly & they left us a pint of milk

Colin and Tina were really welcoming upon arrival and gave us lots of tips on places to visit and eat. Brilliant accommodation, in particular having a hot tub after a busy day walking, cycling, canoeing and even a horse ride with Tina at her riding stables. We had a fantastic 5 days and would really recommend coming here for a holiday.

Great location for the Forest of Dean, warm cottage. Everything you need is provided. The hot tub is lovely. General cleanliness was ok. Sofa needs replacing uncomfortable to sit on. Apart from that a cracking little place. Well worth a stay :-)

The cottage was lovely and the hot tub was a nice extra. The owners were nice and made a good job of renovating the property. We would stay there again.

We had a wonderful time at The Stables! Even enjoyed the hot tube in November! Colin was great, helpful and friendly. Only thing I would say is that the sofa wasn't very comfy. This wouldnt stop me going back - it was everything we wanted in a weekend break!

First time we have stayed in this area, it's beautiful well worth a visit. The cottage is small and cosy perfect for two. The sofa is uncomfortable and does need replacing. The owner is aware of this. Apart from that the cottage is in a great location and well equipped. The hot tub is an added bonus. The owners are helpful and friendly. There is a 2 bed cottage next door owned by the same couple. We would definitely stay here again.
