Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short as, whilst the location was perfect, cleanliness was a real issue. Cobwebs galore that looked like they had been there a very long while. The previous occupiers food in the sink!! carpets that didn't look like they'd been hoovered for a very long time, mouldy shower and hairs! And if there is tea, sugar etc in cupboard then make sure it is not out of date/mouldy. Such a shame as my daughter and I were so looking forward to our stay. If only the pics were true to form. Having said these things, it really wouldn't take much to make this a real gem of a holiday get away. Unfortunately for me, the unclean/fusty/dusty environment immediately affected my lungs which are recovering after a serious bout of pneumonia at the beginning of the year so we had to leave after the first night. Maybe I was just unlucky and The Sett has been beautifully presented for other visitors..... Such a shame.

Sett is a really lovely little 'cabin' style getaway. Owners are friendly and there is a pub next door which serves great food. Located really close to Burley, which has gift shops , tea rooms and pubs. I would recommend any visitors who are older to check in before booking as getting to the bed rooms requires you to climb a ladder style stairs , I'm not sure older people could do this. Also in the living room, there are two single chairs (leather) to watch telly. But apart from This it's perfect for a couple who wanted to come & take the Opportunity to explore New Forest. Good value for money. Bathroom really nice & overall, a lovely stay.

Welcoming hosts, comfortable accommodation and great location for exploring the New Forest, especially for walkers. Local wildlife can be observed from the accommodation; during a four night stay I was able to watch varied birdlife and foxes, badger & deer.

The welcome was good. Everything in the house is not as clean as we wish. But at the dusk we enjoyed to have seen several animals. The environment is beautiful. We have made some longer walks from the books of the owner. Thanks. But for us a week is long enough. If we would like to go at the New Forest again, it wil be in another place.

Situated in the northern part of the National Park which is less commercial than the southern part & this suited me just fine. Surrounded by undisturbed, beautiful countryside with plenty of walking or cycling routes.

Perfect position and very quiet, orientated for the nature lover. Excellent roomy shower, with plenty of hot water. Hosts are very good, setting us up with some freshly laid eggs some milk and tea and coffee to get us started. Plenty of birds visited the food station and we were privileged to see deer in the garden. More comfortable seating would be an improvement and although compact and bijou, you had all you needed. Perfect for a short stay.

Amazing location, friendly hosts, stunning wildlife. We had an fantastic few days at The Sett, Sally and Simon where extremely welcoming and helpful. We saw wild badgers and foxes each evening and the bird feeder outside the kitchen window was constantly visited by numerous birds, and the occasional squirrel, and we spent hours just watching and enjoying. Sally took us into the woods nearby and we saw Fallow Deer with new forest ponies and cows grazes right up to the front gates. The Pub just down the road was welcoming with great good food and drink. Overall this was one of the most enjoyable weekends we have had for a long time and would thoroughly recommend a visit.
