Great little cottage, owners were lovely, we received a very warm welcome with yummy goodies that was very appreciated! Everything was there that you could possibly need, with a homely touch. Cottage was quite remote, although the village was extremely friendly. Unfortunately there isn't a pub anymore, there is however a Sports Hall that does drinks & pub food once a week, but it's not within walking distance in the pouring rain! The village shop is the main source of meeting place, where we met some lovely people. Thank you to our hosts

Picturesque village with very friendly people. The hosts were very polite and welcoming and there welcome pack very much appreciated, there was even something for our dog. The accommodation was ideal for us and had everything to hand that we needed, we would highly recommend it. The community run shop and sports club house were great but it is a shame that there was not that ever demanding village pub. Our hosts were perfect as in informing us of what was going on and what was around with the right amount of contact, not imposing and not distant. We would love to return and as said earlier we highly recommend.

A lovely comfortable cottage, well equipped & in a very quiet location. Pleasant outside courtyard area Owner very welcoming but not at all intrusive during our stay. Only downside was no garden for that late night toilet trip for the dog!

A perfect base for exploring Dorset, East Devon or Somerset. Also, loads of walks starting from Thorncombe village through the beautiful surrounding countryside. The School Room had everything we could possibly need. A quiet, comfortable holiday home from home with a warm welcome from the owner. It was a great choice, we had a wonderful, relaxing week here.

A warm welcome from the owners to this very well equipped cottage. The little courtyard garden with loungers, table and chairs and BBQ was a peaceful haven with plenty of birds to watch. The really large bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in and the absence of street lighting meant total darkness and a really good nights sleep. There are many walks radiating out from the village ideal for walkers on two and four legs. The local village shop provided an excellent selection for self catering and a friendly chat. Thorn combe is ideally placed to visit the sights of Devon and Somerset although the very narrow and winding roads out of the village require careful negotiation !!
