Derbyshire Cottages

The Derbyshire Regional Specialist - Fantastic properties in the most favourable locations. No one knows Derbyshire better!

A cosy rural cottage situated on a farm, completed with alpacas, with far reaching views of the surrounding moorland.

Adjoining the owner’s working farm (with alpacas, sheep and beef cattle) this stone cottage is situated in a quiet unspoilt corner of the Peak District. Built in 1841 it has been sympathetically renovated to offer a real ’away from it all’ place to stay throughout the year. The front door leads into a cosy lounge with a traditional tiled floor, wood burner stove and comfy sofas, with far reaching views across the surrounding moorland. At the end of this room is the well equipped kitchen which has a view out onto the rear garden. Sitting outside the cottage on a summers evening, maybe watching the alpacas feeding in the surrounding fields, will make you want to return again to experience a genuinely rural way of life.

Ground Floor: Property has central heating powered by the owner’s wood burner next door and comprises;
Open Plan Lounge/Diner: With wood burning stove, Freeview TV, DVD player and radio
Kitchen: With gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge with icebox
Bathroom: With shower cubicle, WC and wash basin

First Floor: Bedroom 1: With double bed
Bedroom 2: With triple bunk (double bed with single bunk overhead). Suitable for a couple or a couple plus child.

    Cottage was lovely and cosy. Land lady was friendly and welcoming. She kindly extended our check out time which we really appreciated. Plenty of tea and coffee and milk, however the kettle needs replacing as black stuff comes out even after giving it a good wash and rinse. However, I would not recommendthis cottage for people with disabilities as it is not disabled friendly. Stairs are narrow and the bathroom and washroom are located on the ground floor (with big steps) it can be a bit of a hassle for disabled people. Particularly at night when you need to first tackle the staircase and then the steps to the bathroom. Over all we loved our stay. But the only set back was the access arrangements for people with disabilities.

    Lovely little cottage - with lots of added extras, tea, coffee, waging up liquid, milk and biscuits ect. Really friendly owners who were very welcoming and didn't mind is having a little look around the farm. Great location, near buxton and longnor where the Cheshire Cheese Pub was very good!! I would suggest going to Hathersage and visiting Stanage edge - amazing walk and views.
