Description

A stylish, art deco style, 2nd floor apartment with stunning sea views and ideally located in central Hastings.

If the sea is calling you, hop on a train or jump in the car and head towards 1066 country and Hastings, where you can stay in this elegant second floor apartment, with lift access. Feast your eyes on the ever-changing tabloid of the English Channel from your living room or bedroom window. The Queens Apartment was once part of the very fashionable Queen’s Hotel, a favourite haunt of the aristocrats during the late 1800s. It continues to offer stylish holiday accommodation with an attractive art deco theme. Ideally located in the heart of Hastings, there is access to many shops and restaurants to suit all tastes, plus a nearby cinema. The pier, White Rock Theatre and St Leonard’s are to the west, while in the other direction, it’s just a gentle stroll away from the picturesque historic old town with its famous beach-launched fishing fleet, iconic black net huts and The Jerwood Centre, home to a collection of 20th and 21st century art and exhibitions showcasing the best of modern and contemporary British art. Explore the bric-a-brac and vintage shops, and you just might find a treasure and spot the buildings that appeared in the TV drama, ‘Foyles War’. Eat arguably the freshest fish and chips you will ever taste and then take the East Hill lift, the steepest funicular railway in the UK up to Hastings Country Park for stunning views and, on a clear day, spot France. From George Street, you can take the West Hill lift, which retains its original Victorian coaches and spot Beachy Head from the top. There are year-round events including Jack-in-the-Green in May, food festivals in the autumn and check out the famous bonfire season. Historic Battle, Rye and the golden sands at Camber are a short drive away. Fishing available locally (at cost). Beach 30 yards. Shop 50 yards, pub 400 yards and restaurant 30 yards.

We have been going to Hastings for 20 years and this is the best place we have stayed. Fantastic view of the beach, central location, close to amenities such as food and clothes shopping, arcades, cliff rides/walk and only a short walk to the old town. The apartment itself was amazing. It was very clean and homely with lots of extras such as a little bag of toiletries for each person and a bag with hot chocolate sachets and special biscuits and Hastings Lemon Ketchup. There were plenty of towels and even flannels were provided. I gage how comfortable I am in a holiday let by whether I would walk around bare foot and my shoes were off the minute we walked in the door. Some days we didn't go out until the afternoon because we were so comfortable in the apartment, watching tv, reading or looking at the view.

We had a lovely break. We went for family relaxation, sea air and good walking. To wake up to a sea view from your bed is very special. The apartment is beautiful, everything has been thought of. We were lucky to have days when we could sit in the sunshine on the pier, just a stones throw away. We have eaten well locally, and have thoroughly enjoyed exploring this new destination for us. I have also enjoyed watching and identifying the ships on the horizon, from the lounge, some of their destinations were amazing !

This accommodation was outstanding, in all aspects, from the early information pack received from Mr and Mrs Macpherson, they even emailed the night before we were due to leave, detailing local events. As we traveled by train we were limited to what we could bring, and the apartment lacked nothing. It was very clean, and furnishing etc were exceptional. The location was very ideal, having shops, restaurants, and of course the sea all within walking distance. Two sad things, one we had to leave, and my husband wanted to take the view from the window with him.

The apartment is in a great location with views from the windows of Hastings beach, in glorious sunshine during the day and magnificent sunsets at night. The apartment was extremely clean, comfortable and very well equipped with lots of extra touches that made us feel very welcome. There is lots to do and see in Hastings, the Old Town is particularly interesting with quirky shops and cafes. The pier has been beautifully restored and is well worth a windy walk to the end.

This was truly an amazing apartment looking straight out on to the sea. The décor was very art deco and we loved it. It was very clean and very comfortable and showed that the owners take pride in their holiday home. It had everything you would need for your stay. The area was very interesting and there is plenty to see and do. Bottle Alley in St Leonards is worth a visit Lovely flat walks if you enjoy walking. We hope to return to this apartment for another relaxing break.

A great place to stay for our short break in Hastings. Made a comfortable base for us so we could relax in the evenings once the baby went to bed.

Beautiful apartment overlooking the sea. Very well equipped and comfortable. Many attractions nearby - visited Rye, Battle, Batemans and Bodiam Castle. Wide promenade to walk by the sea and new pier. Explored the old town and also went to the cinema. Bought a weekly ticket for the adjacent underground car park which was very convenient. Very relaxing break!

Fabulous apartment, beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided. Great sea views and handy for beach, shopping and many activities/places to visit. Underground car park, with permit provided, was very close and convenient.
