From a touch of luxury to characterful heritage, experience one of our truly inspiring holiday properties.

Peacefully situated within extensive grounds with plenty of space for 14 guests, Stockbatch Granary makes an ideal retreat at any time of year.

Peacefully situated within the extensive grounds of the Pitchford Estate, these three properties offer superb holiday accommodation. Windy Mundy Farm (RNG) has been converted from an 18th-century threshing barn and deer shelter and is located on an old deer park at the centre of the estate. Built on top of a south-facing hill overlooking Row Brook, and part of a working arable farm, it is surrounded by fields of wheat and barley and has spectacular, far-reaching views towards the Shropshire hills. Enclosed by a long stone wall, the farm has its own courtyard garden with a terrace and barbecue. Stockbatch Granary (RJ6) is reached by a mile-long drive passing through the mixed arable land of Stockbatch Farm, with its fields of corn encircled by woodland. It comprises an 18th-century granary, clapperboard barn, stables and cowsheds, and nestles on a south-facing slope, at the bottom of which a stream wends its way gently along. A courtyard garden enclosed by a red sandstone wall provides a pleasant sitting-out area from which to survey the countryside views. Tree House Barn (RDDJ) is a sensitively restored detached barn conversion which enjoys views of the world famous Pitchford Tree House (the oldest tree house in the world).
Within 6 miles of each property is historic Shrewsbury with its fascinating architecture, castle, museums, fine shops and wealth of traditional inns and restaurants. Easily accessible is popular Church Stretton, and Shropshire’s finest town Ludlow, framed by the gentle Clee Hills, with its impressive castle, magnificent church, many half-timbered buildings and Georgian red-brick houses. Bridgnorth has what is reputed to be the steepest cliff railway in Britain and superb cliff-top walks overlooking the River Severn below. From here, during summer, the Severn Valley Railway’s steam train chugs the scenic 16-mile route to Kidderminster. Attingham Park (NT), Benthall Hall (NT), Ironbridge Gorge and the old market town of Much Wenlock (with its medieval priory) are all within easy driving distance. Riding, sailing, fishing, golf, pubs and restaurants locally. Shop 2 miles, pub 6 miles.

The venue was better than expected - large, spacious, well equipped and clean. One minor criticism would be that some of the furnishings are a little tired and in need of upgrading.

We stayed at the house in a group of 13, with ages ranging from 13 to 82. The house is spacious , comfortable and really well equipped. We felt relaxed letting our dog out into the enclosed garden and there are lots of lovely walks too. We all thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and were reluctant to leave :-).

Fabulous place and location, and our large (9 adults, 4 children) party all had a great time. One disappointment was the cooker, where the LH oven had a loose element which dangled loose, and only one half of the grill worked. This made grilling bacon for everyone, a long job. I noticed this comment had been made a few months ago in the visitors book, and obviously hadn't been worked on.

lovely house and very clean. Fully equipped we found everything we needed. All 7 bedrooms are en suite. Only downside in one of the bedrooms the toilet is only separated from the bedroom by a curtain. We would definitely stay there again.

The family had a fantastic time here, all of us. The children loved the space that they could play in and you never felt that there were so many of u around you couldn't move in fact it was quite the opposite . The kitchen had everything you could need and so much more, all the crockery, cutlery and glasses could cope with 40+ people. You have a large group of you I would highly recommend. I am planning on returning there again with my family. You want a 5 star place to stay this is the place to go.

Fantastic! Went for a long weekend to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends around the same age, male and female. Rooms are clean and the bed's are comfy, kitchen well equipped, lounge is HUGE, all round a very good place and value for money(this was at the end of Jan though). Having our own personal games barn for basketball, table tennis and table footy was great too. We took equipment ourselves but there were already table tennis bats and a basketball there so it's well equipped. We basically just spent the whole weekend playing games, drinking, eating and had a murder mystery night which worked really well. A really great place to relax with friends. Heating, gas, electric, hot water all worked fine. Showers and baths were great, especially room A with the bath in the centre of the room! Tap water was a little cloudy so you had to let it run for a minute but being on a farm I guess it's expected, certainly not a big problem. The final drive is down a long bumpy farmers lane which is the only other negative, but as long as between you everyone has brought enough food/drink to last the weekend, there's no reason to drive anywhere as the cottage has loads to offer. Once we got there we were very impressed! The garden is great too, sadly it was too cold to use the BBQ outside but I would definitely have no problems going back in the summer. Other than being overly picky I can't think of any other negatives other than we all wanted to stay longer! Top weekend all round
