We enjoyed our holiday at The Pines but there were a number of small problems that we felt let it down overall. The location is stunning if you are looking for peace and quiet and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was well equipped and having two elderly people with us meant we needed a little heating in the evenings, which worked very well. The areas that let it down were a very wobbly chair in the kitchen, very squeaky beds, no locks on bathroom and one toilet door, no handrail at the bottom of the stairs which contributed to my aunt falling and severely breaking her upper arm. The games room is a very old garage with an up and over door which is very cobwebby and covered in old leaves etc. The table tennis table had a broken net and the bats looked like something had tried to eat them, and there was one dart for the dartboard. My daughter and niece could have made great use of this whilst I was at the hospital with my Aunt for 2 days !! Another small irritation was the lack of any little tables to put a drink on in the lounge, that said, the sofas were very comfy. Apart from the squeaky beds, these problems would all be inexpensive to rectify and would bring this cottage up to the standard we expect from good quality accommodation.

The cottage was very clean, beds very comfortable, well equipped, plenty of spare towels and bedding. The children loved the outside area. The wifi was a bit slow and didn't work much of the time but it did state it was limited wifi, other than that there's. I thing we can complain about! We would definately stay here again!

Take your own table tennis balls , none provided. Clean house, very comfy beds. No coffee table or low lighting in sitting room, some bedroom doors don't shut and no lock on bathroom door or loo door. Unclear what to do with rubbish or recycling. Lovely area. Nice size garden, but no outside seating. Some issues with hot water or heating.....really loud shreeky noises when used.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We're sorry that you the boiler was noisy for a while. As you know this was because of the solar panel hot water element to the system requiring attention which was attended to. Thank you for alerting us to this during your stay. We will make sure that table tennis balls are provided. There were a dozen initially but we hadn't checked to make sure broken or lost ones were replaced. The system for refuse disposal is very simple as all rubbish bags are removed by the cleaners at the end of the stay. We'll check that the welcome pack is clear on this aspect. The missing locks and any door maintenance will be attended to. There is a large pouffe and a standard light in the sitting room but we'll give consideration to your suggestion for a coffee table and a table lamp. There are six seats and a table for outside use stored in the garage; but if you are suggesting something like garden benches, thanks for the idea, we'll give it thought. Thanks again for your feedback.
