Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

Enjoy a jam making class, a day on the beach, or head to Newquay and Padstow - this delightful apartment sits in a superb area.

Gem House Apartments are ideally situated on the north Cornwall Coast, within a stroll of Mawgan Porth beach, a wide sandy bay leading into the village with its own village stores, restaurant, surf shop and local pub serving great food and drinks.
The Pickle Pot (UKC2209) is next to The Jam Store (ref UKC874) and these two single storey apartments are adjacent to the owner’s home. They are named after the owner’s artisan cottage industry making award winning marmalades, pickles and jams. The owner even offers the opportunity for jam making classes, so you can take home your own jam or marmalade.
Mawgan Porth is situated between Newquay and Padstow, both of which offer a diverse range of activities. Padstow is easily reached either by the coastal road, which dips in to secluded coves, or by the coastal path; where fine dining, fishing, boat trips and cycling along the Camel Trail can all be enjoyed in this quaint fishing village. Famous for its surfing beaches, just 3 miles away, Newquay offers an array of attractions including a zoo and sports centres. Jamie Oliver’s restaurant can be found in Watergate Bay, 3 miles along the road or coastal path, where there is a beach café and an extreme sports academy offering kite surfing, windsurfing and much more.
The properties are ideally situated for visiting the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Bodmin Moor. Newquay airport is just minutes’ away, so why not fly in and leave the car at home, or perhaps enjoy a flying lesson and take a bird’s eye view of the stunning coastline? Beach 300 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
These properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 4 guests.

Great place, great hosts very friendly, nice touches with a welcome gift, cosey place with good facilities, dog friendly (we didn't have a dog) but if you are planning on taking yours they are made to feel welcome to. Ideal for walkers with or with-a dog and lovely beaches,

Lovely, quite spacious, open plan accommodation; plenty of space for two and our dog ... even a cosy bed provided for him as well! Beautiful walk down to the beach, around 5 minutes ... loved the beach, the pub and shops ... perfect spot. Our only, small, reason not to give 10s was the mattress, it was ok, but we did find it little uncomfortable for us towards the end of the week. Having said that, we would go back.

An excellent holiday apartment -warm and comfortable with a lovely welcome. It is well-equipped and in a lovely location, with easy access to coastal walks and many of Cornwall's attractions. The bed was a little "dippy" in the middle but not so as to spoil our holiday. We would certainly consider staying at Pickle Pot again.

Had a really great week at Pickle Pot. Made to feel at home with flexibility on both arrival and departure times. Located up a steep hill to the beach and local hostelry's which helps to work off the calories. Very good location with lots of attractions with 30 mins drive. Good local walks for the dog (and us). Very good Pubs and restaurants nearby. Even had a jam making lesson from Roger. We would definitely return.
