Cottage clean , neat and cosy no problems with the cottage. We had shocking weather with a lot of rain. The main problem was that a lot of the roads and lanes into the village being blocked all being repaired at the same time and we had a detour of many miles to trip in and out and in the rain that was no joke.

A cosy, well equipped holiday cottage in a wonderful location, perfect for touring the local area. An added bonus that we were able to take the dog and a fantastic area with walks and fields right on the doorstep. We all had a lovely holiday!

Our stay at the pen was just what we needed, relaxing, comfortable and trouble free, would definitely stay at the cottage again. If I was to offer advice it would be that the kettle is de-scaled regularly as it did have a lot of scale Inside and although I tried to remove it, it still was not pleasant to use do we just used a saucepan to boil water for hot drink - small thing but if you had seen it, it would put you off using the kettle. Everything else was lovely.

This property lived up to expectations, it was exactly as advertised. It is compact and you have to consider this when booking. The living accommodation is one room, the bedroom is quite small with just enough room to move around the bed. The bathroom is small but functional. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. We marked down slightly on comfort due to lack of independent control of heating, took a while to warm up on the first evening, under floor heating once working was very effective. A short 5 min walk down into the village to the local pub which served excellent food. No street lights but a torch is provided. Very well equipped unit, everything for the kitchen, even some salt and pepper. Complimentary milk, tea, coffee and sugar available plus a welcome bottle of local cider and beer. Entertainment well catered for, books, magazines, DVD's, games etc. An excellent supply of literature about local attractions, ordinance survey maps for walkers etc. Useful local contacts file with phone numbers. It is in the countryside, at the edge of the village, very peaceful, you have to expect the sounds of the country such as the early morning call from the local cockerel in the next door garden. A sound I personally welcomed.

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your comments. We do have independent heating at the property. The information pack explains how it works and it is simple to over-ride instantly for an hour if the programmed timing is not appropriate. There are thermostats in each room, which I always point out when welcoming guests. I am sorry you didn't realise this, but of course we are always on hand if you want assistance.
