Lovely cottage, well equipped & cared for , plenty of books, dvds ,games for rainy or in our case snowy days . Efficient central heating Pleasant village with friendly residents, quiet enough to walk the dog on the side roads . I was most impressed that a gritter came up the minor road to the village on the snowy days

Superb relaxing Christmas getaway in a charming cottage with delightful and unusual features. We explored the moors, forest, countryside, coastal path and Castle Howard. The cottage is in a perfect spot for getting to all of these and there are walks from the doorstep. Jaquie the owner is friendly and so helpful and set us off in the right direction for exploring the area, the cottage was decorated beautifully for Christmas and there were lots of thoughtful little extras that made our stay extra special. Full marks for pet friendliness, our three little dogs were welcomed. Sawdon is a lovely quiet village, we enjoyed our meal at the pub just across the road and there is a decent sized Spa shop a short drive away.
