We had a fantastic stay in this lovely cottage. We felt very much at home. Also we find the cottage very comfortable and the groundfloor heating is so very luxurious. The owners are lovely people and they can tell you so much about the area. We really hope to come back next year.

Great holiday cottage in a great location. All the attractions are within a 45 min drive from the historic Audley End House to Colchester zoo (which is excellent for the kids) and shopping at Braintree Freeport and even a trip into London is possible. Quiet location and some fantastic photos of Hedingham Castle peeking through the early morning mist from the livingroom. Cottage is situated down a country lane and our kids enjoyed seeing the wildlife up close along with Indie the dog! Would recommend to anyone.

There was no dishwasher which is unusual these days and the lasagne dish needs replacing. Very comfortable beds and sofas. The heating and insulation was extremely efficient which we weren't expecting and we were lovely and warm throughout our stay. There were a few issues with blinds but the owners were very helpful. Beautiful location and loved looking out of the window and seeing the castle every morning, especially in the October mists. The only issue I have is the usual one of a massive price increase because it's a half term holiday. If it'd been the week before or after I would have said it was value for money.

We enjoyed our holiday a lot . Spacious, good table for dining, nice beds, beautiful view. Excellent location, & having a little visitor several times a day to keep an eye on things-- thanks Indie. Will return again for sure.

The view alone was a real bonus but we were within easy walking distance of Castle Headingham (castle and village) so no reason to drive if you want real relaxation! The owners were very friendly, as was their sweet dog - the dog was small but had the spirit of a Great Dane as he paraded across the lawn. Rooms were good sizes, comfort and cleanliness were second to none. For those who need it, wifi was good strength. This is one cottage that we would return to if we wanted to explore the area or simply wanted a bit of 'us time'. Very good food to be found in a number of local pubs. Access to nearby attractions was good too.
