The Old Vicarage is a spacious and comfortable, old property in a charming situation on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Lindale has a pub but otherwise limited amenities. The property is generally comfortable (except the instructions for the heating are not very clear) and is well equipped (although non-stick saucepans would be nice!) Certainly a great place for a family gathering or a house party - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

What a fantastic house, in a fantastic little village (complete with lovely local pub and fantastic children's playground). The house was absolutely perfect for us - three families with 5 children aged 3 to 6. The house offers so much space, and the rooms were well equipped, and lovely comfy beds. The location was perfect with so much to do close by - Fell Foot Park, the Lakeside Motor Museum, Aquarium and Steam Railway all just 10 minutes away, and Bowness, Windermere, Sizergh Castle, Ambleside and Wray Castle all within half an hour. We had a wonderful week and would definitely book the house for another holiday in the future.

A beautiful old house with loads of space for 8 adults and two under fives. We had some issues with the heating, which wasn't coming on with the timer, and had to be turned on manually. The mattresses in the twin and bunk bed rooms were very bad, and the mattress toppers provided were not adequate to deal with this. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the area.

Perfect house for annual friends get together. Lots of space for the children to play and spread out their toys. Great space for sitting by the (gas) fire on an evening to read, chat or plan the next days adventures. Location is great for walks from the door or a short drive away. House in need of a bit of TLC in places with decor and some kitchen items but this doesn't detract too much from the overall experience. Supermarkets will deliver which is an added bonus. Towels being provided would help enormously but was informed this was the case.

We really enjoyed our stay at the old vicarage, it was a great house and had everything we needed. There are a few minor repairs that need attention i.e. dishwasher door was broken and the main bathroom window did not shut properly, however as we did not see anyone or receive a call from the owner I could not share this info. This certainly didn't spoil our stay, it is a great house for a family get together.

The Old Vicarage has lots of character, is well equipped and able to meet the needs of a large group of people. We really enjoyed our stay but were surprised that given the cost of the property towels weren't provided. Also, the house would benefit from some updating. Having said that, the property is very spacious and even with 11 of us staying it didn't feel cramped.

As a family of thirteen, we needed somewhere that was big enough to accommodate everybody and the Old Vicarage did not disappoint. The rooms were big and spacious and we were all able sit together in the lounge and dining room without feeling cramped or on top of each other. All of the bedrooms were beautifully presented with fresh, clean and comfortable linen on the beds. The kitchen was large and functional and had everything we needed to feed a large family. Having a Slow Cooker was a God send and enabled us to prepare the evening meal in the morning and go out enjoy the scenery of the Lakes without worrying who was on kitchen duty later on. Outside there is a large garden to the front and rear with a built in barbecue and plenty of seating. Luckily, we had great weather and were able to enjoy the gardens fully. During the evenings there was plenty to keep us occupied as the Old Vicarage has the full Sky T.V package and the small lounge is perfect for sitting quietly or enjoying a game of cards. Having a large Utility Room with a washing machine, there is no need to worry if the weather isn't good, as there is plenty of room to wash & dry clothes and clean boots etc. All in all, a fantastic place in a great location. We would certainly recommend the Old Vicarage and would definitely return !
