A thoroughly enjoyable weekend. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need; plenty of mugs, glasses, plates and cutlery as well as serving dishes, pans and baking sheets. The lounge was lovely and the rooms were good sizes. The only issue was the bed in the single room which was a touch uncomfortable as you could feel the springs in it. Could do with a house name sign on the gate, the Asda shopping delivery people could not find the house and the only name sign is hidden by the front door. Would recommend the house to others.

Well equipped, large house with plenty of parking. The owner couldn't have been nicer and provided everything we needed. Yes the total is expensive - but not per person when you fill the house. Would we go again? - you bet we would - if we can ever get the family to agree on a date.

My family of 8 adults and 3 children (3 generations) stayed here for 2 significant birthday celebrations and thoroughly enjoyed our first foray into the Lake district. The cottage was close enough to visit several beautiful locations (Ambleside, Cartmel, Bowness, Fell Foot Park, Grizedale Forest) and is huge enough for everyone to have plenty space when needed. It has character and charm and the owner was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back again and highly recommend to anyone.

This property is extremely large and comfortable. The main very large lounge and the extremely large dining room are very nicely decorated and the kitchen is clean and very well equipped. There is also extensive utility space great for wiping muddy dogs, cleaning boots etc. it's a property that you feel you can relax in. One or two rooms would benefit from redecoration but they are not the main rooms so it didn't matter to us. The cellar games room amd garden are perfect for older children - we would have loved them at 8-14 years. If I had taken my two collie pups I would have preferred the garden better fenced but as it was we only took our old dog and it was fine for her. We had a lovely holiday and would definitely stay there again.

The bathrooms are a bit outdated and we had a problem with heating. I was surprised the heating wasn't on when we arrived and it didn't come on in the morning. When I spoke to the owners they did sorted it though.
