Returned for another visit to Christchurch during half-term. It's such a great location being so close to the gorgeous town, beaches and walks. Kids loved it, dog loved it, and we had fun too.

Would have enjoyed the holiday except for the parking trying to do a 200 point turn in space provided in a land rover spoilt the holiday as I also marked my car which will now need repairing.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; That’s annoying for you. There is parking for 3 cars on the drive/garden, but unfortunately it's too tight to do a 3 point turn. I hope there wasn’t too much damage.

I had a lovely holiday at The Old Thatch. It was very convenient for shops and there were lovely walks to take my little dog on. There was a slight drawback to this convenience and this was busy traffic outside the house but I knew about this in advance and I thought it was a worthwhile chance to take to be so close to amenities. After the first day I hardly noticed the traffic noise. The cottage was clean and comfortable and the patio was a little suntrap! Thank you Selina for bringing a sun shade, it was definitely needed! It was lovely to be left to enjoy the cottage without interruption and to feel at home for the two weeks of my stay.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am glad you had such a fab stay in my Thatched Cottage. Yes indeed the private garden, that has glimpses of the Priory, is indeed a suntrap. If you fancied a sunbathe with a dip in the sea – the cottage is walking distance to the beach.

Great location in just a short walk to town and shops. Though the road is busy we soon got used to the noise which we didn't find an issue at all. The garden was a little disappointing as it needed some work but otherwise a lovely cottage. Christchurch is good location to get around Dorset and the surrounding areas.

Great cottage in the centre of Christchurch with easy walking to shops etc. Five minutes drive to beach, 15 minutes to new forrest. Perfect for our stay with our retriever. Great off road parking and secure garden for dogs.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your positive feedback. Yes my cottage is a perfect getaway with a dog as there is a secure garden and lots of fabulous walks. Along the river being my personal favourite, with a stop at the Boathouse for coffee.

Ideal location and handy for town centre and river walks. Plenty of places to visit and the owner left a useful guide to the local pubs and restaurants. Cottage is full of character which means floorboards creak and you need to mind your head on the low doorways. My daughter and son-in-law who joined me on this holiday live in a similar type of cottage in Devon so are used to this. All in all a very nice holiday cottage and I would consider coming again. Just a couple of recommendations:- We ate out most evenings but on one night decided to eat in. Unfortunately there was no baking tray on which to cook the flan and oven chips. Also, a lock on the bathroom door would be handy.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your positive feedback. PS.,there are now a selection of baking trays and a secure lock on the bathroom door.
