Description

There are so many outdoor activities surrounding this property that you will be spoiled for choice; it’s perfect for a peaceful break.

Yeo Farm is a small country estate nestling in the picturesque hamlet of Waterrow on the Somerset/ Devon border at the foot of the Brendon Hills. Walkers and dog owners are welcome at these adult only farm cottages and a dog welcome pack is provided! Comprising some 40 acres of woodland, pasture, ponds and the River Tone, the farm also has fishing rights for over half a mile, and a riverside walk has been made to enjoy the natural flora and fauna present in this area. The 16th-century farmhouse has been restored and is the home of the resident owners, whilst the cottages (Refs ERE, ERF, and ERG) have been sympathetically converted from former farm buildings and comprise three adjoining character cottages which enjoy wonderful views over the estate. The cottages have been renovated and refurbished to a high standard, and offer all modern conveniences and comfort in this stunning setting.
Yeo Farm provides an excellent base for countryside pursuits and walking, with the Brendons, Quantocks and Blackdown Hills nearby. On the doorstep is the Exmoor National Park which has been designated the first International Dark Sky Reserve in Europe (telescope on request). Horses are welcome. Many historic houses and gardens in the vicinity. Coast 13 miles. There is coarse, fly and sea fishing available; golf 4 miles; hard tennis courts and outdoor swimming pool 1½ miles; clay and game shooting by arrangement. Shops 1½ miles, local gastro pub 1 mile.

Large living/dining room/kitchen with French doors to courtyard. Double bedroom with walk-in closet and en-suite shower room and toilet (can also be accessed from hall).

Had a great week at yeo farm [the stables cottage ] in Wiveliscombe somerset, it was a superb cottage clean, very comfortable, everything was well catered for, plenty of parking space, table& chairs outside overlooking the magnificient scenery. On arrival we were met by Claire, Callum & Harvey the lovely black Lab. We had a delicious cream tea on arrival which was much appreciated. The information leaflets & customer review book was very helpful. We had an excellent lunch at The Rock though as informed it wasd a bit pricey, great Sunday lunch at The Bear in Wiveliscombe. Plenty to see in the area we enjoyed our visit to Dunster Castle also to Lynmouth great fish & chips only a small village. Stan & Cindy Berry Liverpool

Wonderfully clean and well appointed accommodation. The owner is very approachable, willing to help and attended to our (very minor) comments immediately. The landscape all around this part of Somerset is beautiful. Within easy driving of Minehead, Exmoor, Tiverton and the Somerset Levels. If your dog is a bird-chaser, going in the autumn "pheasant season" may be stressful but that goes for the whole of Somerset seemingly!!

We spent four wonderful days at the old stables. The peace and quite and the scenery are a bonus. The nearest pub/restaurant is one mile away which during daylight is a lovely walk beside the river. The village of Wiveliscombe is a short drive away if you need to stock up on supplies. Our host Claire was always available if we needed any information. Can fully recommend this to one and all.

Claire (the owner) met us on arrival, and showed us the Best cottage we ever have stayed in, it was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable, well equipped with everything you could possibly want. The first night we took the river walk to the Rock Inn for an lovely meal, met a charming local couple on the way and spent 30 mins chatting. We were only here for 3 nights but it truly was worth the 200 mile drive. Thank you Claire and Calum
