Approached by an impressive driveway flanked by trees, these converted former stables buildings occupy a picturesque setting in the grounds of Georgian Grade II listed Blyth View, once serving as a workhouse. Now converted into charming residences Blyth View enjoys an elevated position above the Blyth Valley with extensive grounds and a residents’ leisure facility. Surrounded by open countryside, it makes a tranquil setting, yet the Suffolk Heritage Coast, and the towns of Southwold and Walberswick are a mere 10 minutes’ drive. Dunwich, Minsmere bird reserve, Aldeburgh and Snape, all within ½-hour drive. Shop and pub ¾ mile.

    Lovely, well-equipped cottage close to fantastic beaches. Great for dog-walking. Would love to come back.

    We had a lovely stay, we had stayed on the site before in other accommodation but this was just that bit better and we had a dog with us this time. The bedrooms where excellent and had good nights sleep every night. Well equipped ground floor. Will probably return soon.

    If the following points were addressed we would consider going again: 1. Very disappointed with the inadequate and antiquated TV system 2. The duvets were very very thin, especially for May in England!! Also there would not have been sufficient blankets had our party been more than two, as we needed individual rooms. 3. We chose the property, although above our preferred budget, because of the swimming pool & gym, but found we were not allowed to go unaccompanied (sole use). This meant we couldn't use it as often as we would have liked. 4. Recycling & refuse: the instructions were inadequate & out of date. Also no recycling boxes in the house to help collect such items. 5. Finally, considering the price per week, we felt it was unacceptable that there was no wifi available for our free use.

    Response on behalf of the owner; We’re very sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with your stay and hope this did not affect your enjoyment too much. Regarding the TV, the TV screen is small (24’’) in keeping with size of cottage but connected to Freesat so access to over 100 channels (plus a wide selection of DVD’s for guests use) The cottage is warm but extra duvets are available so people can double up if they prefer. Not sure why you did not make use of these. Blankets are provided for further flexibility. The Swimming pool is not supervised and users are responsible for their own safety. Solo use of pool or gym is at user’s own risk. The refuse/recycling instructions are accurate and up to date – perhaps you misunderstood them? There is no space for a recycling box but extra bin bags are provided for this purpose. Wifi is clearly not included in the property details so if it is important to people, we assume that they will not choose this cottage.
