Simply the best cottage we have ever stayed in. Beautifully and tastefully renovated, and equipped to a very high standard. Excellent WiFi connectivity.

A lovely place to stay, beautifully kitted out - the kitchen had all the equipment you could need, and even some properly sharp knives, which is unusual in my experience of holiday lets. The bathroom was another stand-out aspect, the best we have found in any holiday let.

The Old Stable is a purpose built holiday let. Although finished to a nice standard, we personally we found it rather clinical. The sofa in the lounge is rather small so after a long day exploring in the cotwolds it was hard to relax (my partner is 6ft2) and the single beds didn't do anything for the romantic in us ! Looking at the previous occupants the majority appear to be couples so I would suggest the single beds are replaced with a nice big kingsize bed. Also, it was difficult to get a Wi-Fi connection as this is extended from the owners property so the only way to stay connected is to position your device on the window ledge facing the owners house, which made lazy browsing impossible. (you had to perch on a chair by the kitchen sink) plus there was no 3/4g connection either ! The owner did explain he was having some issues with wi-fi and was waiting for the Engineer to come out on Tuesday (2 days after we left), but I did read some similar comments from 3 months ago so I would check before booking. All in all, a good location for Bicester shopping village, a clean and well maintained property, with some lovely touches such as the lemon cake on arrival, but this didn't make up for the rest ! To be honest we left a day early as we wanted to wake up in our own comfy bed and browse the web :)

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; We take any concerns raised by clients seriously, and if possible address the issue on the day, to make their stay enjoyable; the issues raised below are a surprise to us both. The brochure clearly shows the settee and lists the beds as single, which are of good quality and standard size. I did explain that the Village of Wendlebury at times has poor phone signal, depending on your service provider, and that we were having intermittent broadband problems, this had been identified as being a cabling problem, and was due to be rectified early the following week, the problem has now been resolved by BT.

A beautiful cottage, very quiet, comfortable and warm, with quality furnishings and fittings. We loved the open plan layout, and the cottage had everything we needed in it. The owners are nearby to answer any questions about the cottage, and the area.
