We had a really nice time here. The owner was friendly and welcoming and was helpful with things to do in the local area. The only reason we have given a slightly lower score for local amenities is because it’s in the middle of the countryside, so there’s a little way to travel to shops etc if that’s what you want. We chose it specifically because it was more remote so it suited us.

The Old Mill was absolutely glorious. We stayed in mid September and not even the wet weather could dampen our enjoyment of the Old Mill. Our hosts were perfect and greeted us with much appreciated tasty treats and the warmest welcome you could imagine. The garden was a wonderful haven to just enjoy being outdoors and the views across the mill pond and over to the fields was breathtaking. We loved every minute of our time there, especially the building itself. We were very comfortable and the old Mill is a perfect romantic getaway if that’s what you’re looking for. Great accommodation, fantastic gardens, unbelievably friendly and helpful hosts - all in all, the perfect week away only to be improved by some better weather, but that’s Britain for you 😜

Hidden romantic Paradise with all the comfort and luxury one can wish. A medieval building with al lot of (recent) history that is made a wonderful place with respect to it's past. pictures on the website give only a small impression of what one can expect.

Unique setting with family history, very peaceful. The Host was very welcoming and helpful. There are many National Trust properties a short driving distant, Langport has the nearest supermarket and walk by the River Parrott. Also, there is a Baptist Church Coffee Shop in the next village open Wednesday to Saturday, lovely. There are many birds, foxes, badgers and lots of species of water fowl, we saw two kingfishers What a treat ! If you like escape to the country this is it! ,

This was probably the best cottage that we have ever stayed in. The location is idyllic and the owner was very welcoming and even made us some fresh bread which was lovely. We could have quite happily spent our stay sitting in the sun on the deck listening to the bird song and watching the wildlife. We will definitely be going back.

The Old Mill is in a fabulous location, quiet and private, with a lovely view of fields into the distance. Cows, baby donkeys and alpacas in neighbouring fields, and fantail pigeons in the dovecote. With a sheltered veranda, and a large pond (complete with the occasional kingfisher) it's an idyllic spot. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped, with a spacious main room, comfy sofas and an excellent shower. The welcome was outstanding, the owner was very friendly and there if we needed her, but very respectful of our privacy. The nibbles, home-made bread, orange juice etc. etc. on arrival were wonderful! However, potential visitors should be aware that: the 10 steep stairs to the bedroom are somewhere between stairs and a ladder i.e. VERY steep, and the bathroom is downstairs so it feels quite a treck in the middle of the night (there is a bath and sink in the bedroom but no toilet); there are a lot of low beams in the bedroom which make moving around the bed feel hazardous, especially in the dark (as evidenced by my sore head); there is an approx. 11" step across the middle of the bedroom - I only missed it once but wrenched my ankle badly on that occasion; parking is approx. 75m from the front door; and there are about 10 steps up to the front door. I really don't want to put anyone off, because the location, the rest of the cottage and the owner are all fabulous, but I do wish I'd known all the above beforehand.
