This is the third time we have stayed at this lovely cottage which is just right for two people plus our dog. The owner is very friendly and makes sure that we are okay, what more could you want. Plenty of places in the area to visit and some good eating places.

The owners of the Old Granary are two of the nicest people I've ever met. Nothing was too much trouble. The welcome scones were lovely too. The apartment is above the owners house and a perfect size for two, with a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner and a decent size bedroom. The bathroom has a bath which was nice after long walks, and a shower above the bath. The furnishings are a bit dated but that didn't bother us at all. The place was very clean apart from a few animal hairs my wife found on the carpet so I presume dogs are allowed. The local area has loads to do, on sunny or rainy days. The walks from Barnard Castle were lovely, and we spent over four hours in the Bowes Museum. Sadly there is nothing in the village in the way of pubs or shops, you have to drive to Barnard Castle but there are plenty of everything there. The Old Granary was a great place to stay and very reasonably priced. I recommend it.

This is the second time we have stayed in The Old Granary. It is a very cosy cottage with everything we needed for two people. We were also able to take our dog with us and we were all made very welcome. Lovely walking in the area and good pubs in Barnard Castle which is only a short distance away. We would certainly recommend it and would hope to return for another long weekend stay.
