We had a great week here. The owners even helped us when we had a puncher. There was a fire lite on arrival. We were made to feel welcome and our little dog felt at home from the first min. An idea base for exploring both coast and east lakes. Local pub does good quality food. We would be happy to return

We enjoyed our quiet break away with our dog. Lots of beach and rural walks. Fabulous walkable White Mare restaurant/pub in Beckermet village.

The cottage itself was lovely but it is in need of some new clean furniture and bed as the sofa was dirty and the bed very uncomfortable. we couldn't get a bath the first night but the owners left the hot water on continually after that but we had to wait for for the water tank to heat up again so we could have a proper bath. The fridge still has a wooden shelf in in and the freezer compartment has a bolt on to stop it coming open and not sure if this is a good thing really. On a good note the owners were lovely and helpful and we did have a great holiday otherwise.

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your feedback. The sofa and bed will be replaced and a new glass shelf has been ordered for the fridge

Certainly not our most successful holiday. The cottage was beautiful as was the garden but I am sure there was life in the carpets as our dogs would be sleeping peacefully and then jump up and start looking around them and I had bites around my ankles. We left three days early as we had the most dreadful problem with blue bottle flies - maybe the warm weather followed by a wet day - but it felt as the cottage was full of them. Wifi and phone connection was non existent unless you were hanging out of an upstairs window, when you come away with work to do that makes things very difficult. There was also a smell of damp throughout the property.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your comments. We were not made aware of the fly problem or we would have rectified it as we live next door and would be pleased to help resolve any problems. The best wifi signal is on the dining room table next to the window. However wifi is only meant for pleasure and not business as stated in the booking terms and conditions, “Where Wi-Fi is an advertised facility, please note that its provision is subject to availability and network conditions. It may not be available 24 hours a day and is provided for pleasure not for business purposes. Bookings are not accepted if they are wholly reliant on the uninterrupted, unlimited provision of Wi-Fi"
