Lovely, traditional, old farmhouse. Clean, warm and comfortable. Plenty of room for all 7 of us ranging from 2 1/2 to 90 years. Conveniently placed for Forest of Dean. Loved the character of the house, with old bake house still attached and made into a feature. Farmer next door was in the middle of lambing, so was busy, but did not disturb us during night, indeed we would have liked to see more of sheep and lambs.

The house has lots of character, with beams and a huge inglenook fireplace in the living room. It was ideal for us - a family get-together of 3 generations and 1 dog. It is surrounded by farm buildings, although there are views of the hills, it is quite 'hemmed in'. This didn't bother us and we were there to spend quality time together and explore the area.

Nice house, good size for groups but could do with a couple of better finishing touches. The location is in the middle for most places to visit. We really enjoyed it and would recommend.

We came to the Forest of Dean to do some mountain biking. This cottage was ideal - a 6km cycle along quiet roads to link up with forest trails. The flagstone floors an the kitchen and hallway meant we didn't have to worry about dirty shoes - we could just sweep and dirt out. The utility was useful for storing bikes and washing dirty clothes with a large airing cupboard in the bathroom. The house was cosy and warm when we came home, with plenty of hot water. A good range of cooking utensils, crockery and pots and pans. The owner lives next door and was very helpful. Wifi would have been useful.

Very nice looking, cosy and comfortable cottage. For a large group of people could do with a dishwasher. Knives weren't sharp at all so really struggled with slicing and cutting vegetables.

greeta cottage for groups as all bedrooms can take 2 people and there are 2 bathrooms whcih is helpful. The patio is gravel so not so good for kids but there is a built in BBQ whcih was perfect for us. There is a pub along the road whcih has limited food serving times but plenty of plces in Lydney and also the B&B opposit cottage does great afternoon teas. There is plenty of space in the cottage and parking for 3 cars and the kitchen is well equipped. Nice and quiet and very close for exploring the forest
