It was ideal for exploring the area plus visiting a nearby relative. I know the area so thar helped when revisiting places from my childhood. The other members of the family group did not know area but thought it beautiful and autumn colours magnificent. Also visited my birthplace in Malvern.

Hi, The cottage is large, comfortable and conveniently located. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider again as it was value for money compared to other cottages in the area. The only disadvantage for larger groups is that the upstairs bathroom needs updating and does not have a shower. our group ended up using the downstairs bathroom and only used the toilet upstairs. Cheers!

Pleasant cottage and an ideal location to the Forest of Dean surrounding attractions.

A lovely cottage, but lack of attention to detail did rather mar our stay. We left a list of suggestions for improvements, including better cleaning and provision of missing items. We enjoyed the location and visited a number of easily accessible local beauty spots.

An excellent property and we enjoyed it very much. The one negative point was that the downstairs bedroom and hallway by the front door smelt of cat's (?) urine. Apart from this all facilities were excellent and we would stay again.

After finding a sticky dining table, we started to notice other places that were not cleaned. Overall the cleanliness was good, but some places were taken for granted and missed. Bedrooms were good as were the bathrooms. As the property sleeps 8, the kitchen only has a small cooker and the oven is way too small. More large pots would be good. We enjoyed our stay, just a few observations.

The house has lots of character, with beams and a huge inglenook fireplace in the living room. It was ideal for us - a family get-together of 3 generations and 1 dog. It is surrounded by farm buildings, although there are views of the hills, it is quite 'hemmed in'. This didn't bother us and we were there to spend quality time together and explore the area.

Nice house, good size for groups but could do with a couple of better finishing touches. The location is in the middle for most places to visit. We really enjoyed it and would recommend.

Lovely, traditional, old farmhouse. Clean, warm and comfortable. Plenty of room for all 7 of us ranging from 2 1/2 to 90 years. Conveniently placed for Forest of Dean. Loved the character of the house, with old bake house still attached and made into a feature. Farmer next door was in the middle of lambing, so was busy, but did not disturb us during night, indeed we would have liked to see more of sheep and lambs.

We came to the Forest of Dean to do some mountain biking. This cottage was ideal - a 6km cycle along quiet roads to link up with forest trails. The flagstone floors an the kitchen and hallway meant we didn't have to worry about dirty shoes - we could just sweep and dirt out. The utility was useful for storing bikes and washing dirty clothes with a large airing cupboard in the bathroom. The house was cosy and warm when we came home, with plenty of hot water. A good range of cooking utensils, crockery and pots and pans. The owner lives next door and was very helpful. Wifi would have been useful.
