There are fishing lakes, also about 500 yards away with carp and coarse fishing (daily tickets required).

Bridgwater Carnival takes place on the nearest Saturday to Bonfire Night, and makes a fabulous night out. There are many National Trust properties close by including Dunster Castle and Gardens. Taunton is ideal for shopping with many local shops, cafés and restaurants. Minehead is worth a visit with its lovely beaches. Take a trip on the West Somerset Steam Railway from Minehead to the pretty harbour town of Watchet. Also worth a visit are Porlock and Porlock Weir close by. There are so many places to visit one week is never enough. Beach 2 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Old Dairy. Well equipped and a lovely welcome hamper. We enjoyed the sole use of the the pool and hot tub. Owners welcoming and friendly. The sofa could be doing with being replaced as we found it uncomfortable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be happy to book again.

Wow. The cottage is Amazing, more than you would ever expect. The welcome Hamper is also Amazing,so much given. Andrew is very Friendly and Helpful,a warm welcome was given, a credit. The swimming pool and Hot tub were the perfect place to relax and so private,as is the courtyard garden and grounds. The whole place is spotlessly clean and maintained to the highest standard. Well done. We will be returning soon. I would like to mention that the parking is fine(a previous comment made), there is plenty of room to access the drive, we have a larger car and done with ease, also the owner has a Transit Van and large car,so its not a problem. If you book you will not be dissapointed.

We had a very warm welcome when we arrived and the basket of food and the wine was much appreciated. Loved the time we spent in the pool and hot tub, and also in the patio garden, all of which was private. The bed was very comfortable, the stylish interior design of the cottage gave it a five star feel. There are good pubs serving food nearby which we visited. All in all a very relaxing holiday.

Absolutely fabulous holiday. The recreational facilities are better than many high end hotels, set in superb private garden, with many items of local interest set in and amongst trees, bushes and hanging baskets. The Old Dairy has been completely renovated to an extremely high standard and is very well maintained. I thank the owners Andrew and Mell for making our holiday a special treat. We would love to stay again.

Everything about this cottage is highly recommended APART FROM.... the entrance off the street. The drive/passageway divides the main house from the adjoining terrace and is very narrow, dependant obviously on the size/width of your car. Plus the degree of swing to line up can be problematic based on other moving and parked vehicles. For us it was a matter of only an inch or so either side-- and in a new car! We worried about this quite a bit before reluctantly deciding it was a major factor in not rebooking again. Once through the drive, the site opens out comfortably for parking. For the rest it is a unique location, exceptionally well looked after, a remarkable extensive garden of lawn, quite fabulous large pool and separate extensive sun terrance area with some unique features. We were very sad that we had to decline any thought of going again due to the driveway.
