At the foot of Grabbist Hill (NT) in the Exmoor National Park, these four beautifully furnished and well-equipped Grade II listed cottages are set in the grounds of 16th century Ellicombe Manor. Clustered around a cobbled courtyard they enjoy shared use of an outdoor heated swimming pool, with its own walled area and poolside furniture, and an acre of magnificent sub tropical gardens and 3-acre paddock offering views over the West Somerset Steam Railway and across the Bristol Channel to the Welsh coast. The gardens are a special feature of Ellicombe Manor, filled with mature palm trees, named exotic plants and shrubs and quiet corners with seating. Here, too, visitors may discover the ‘secret garden’ or enjoy a game of outdoor chess or other outdoor games.
A mile away, Dunster, with its famous castle, yarn market and pre Christmas candlelight shopping, offers a selection of pubs, shops, and restaurants. Minehead’s resort attractions, sandy beach and coastal path walks are also close by. Golf, river and lake fishing, horse riding and wonderful walking locally in Exmoor National Park and West Somerset Steam Railway weekends. One mile to the start of South West Coast Path.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room with vaulted ceiling and patio doors. Kitchen. 2 steps down to 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Terrace and furniture.

All properties: Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot. High chair. Freeview TV. DVD. CD. Microwave. Shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer (honesty box) and freezer. Shared 1-acre garden with secret garden and furniture. 3-acre paddock. Parking. This was a very nice cottage in a very good location. But .....I am afraid to say we would not stay there again down only to just one issue. As I was working I needed wifi and this was extremely poor to non-existent. I appreciate that most people on holiday would not be too concerned but this is the first of the many holiday cottages that we have rented that did not have it at a decent level.

The Old Coach house was warm, clean and comfortable. We were made very welcome by the owners who gave us a tour of the beautiful gardens. We would love to go back!

We had a really lovely 5 day break at the old Coach House. The cottage is well equipped and a great base for exploring the surrounding areas (the map provided by keith was very much appreciated!) The grounds and swimming pool are lovely and well looked after and Rufus (our black lab) loved running freely around the secure paddock. There is plenty to do whether you want a quiet, relaxing break, a family getaway or a pet friendly holiday, there really is something for everyone to do. We would love to stay again and hope to return after our little one is born along with other family members for a break away. We will definitely be recommending to friends and family and anyone else that will listen!!

A delightful cottage set in the grounds of a manor house. The gardens were beautiful and there is a field adjoining them where dogs can be walked. The owner was very helpful and provided us with an O/S map of the area marked with the best places to visit. The accommodation was ideal for 2 people and had everything we needed. Wifi would have been a benefit but didn't worry us too much as we had a good 3g connection on our mobile phones. The coastline nearby has stunning views and the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
