This is a very characterful property which is full of interesting bits and pieces. The overall location is excellent. The micro location less so due to the proximity to the busy road, - we could have worked that out for ourselves and it is appreciated that not much can be done about this and it really wouldn't be a problem for people who are out and about during the daytime. The property is well equipped and there is a nice welcome and excellent info provided by the owner. We were comfortable and the only things that would have made it even better were the wind direction not blowing the smoke back down the chimney which meant we had to abandon 2 fires, and, not that we are used to 'endless' hot water, - a bit more of it would have been nice! These comments are not criticisms, - we don't live in luxury at home but we do like to have facilities equal to our home when we are on holiday. We were not particularly lucky with the weather and probably spent more time in the property than most people do. We enjoyed our visit to Skye, met some lovely people and ate some wonderful food.

A quaint little cottage in a handy place for exploring the island. We were not very keen on the main road being so very close but its pretty quiet at night.

Had a fab time on Skye. The Old Church is perfectly located for exploring both the cuillin ridge and the red cuillins, taking pretty much equal time to get to Broadford or Portree. The Old Church is pretty basic, but comfortable and homely. Perfect for what we needed. We loved sitting in the conservatory, watching the sheep, their lambs and all the birds. We got engaged when we were there, so we might just have to go back for our honeymoon...!

A beautifully detailed retreat full of genuine charm and individual character. What a treat to come down from a wild day in the Cuillin mountains to the open fire, and then breakfast the morning after overlooking the loch.
