Brilliant cottage, ideal for family get togethers. Pool well used. Beautiful surroundings. Cinema Room was a bonus, particularly as we had a few rainy days.

This was one of my favourite weekends. Celebrating my 30th birthday with my closest friends. The house had everything and the owners have thought of everything. The weather was beautiful, hotter than Ibiza apparently! Will definitely recommend this for friends and families.

Had a fantastic week, celebrating my birthday. The weather was amazing, we had sunshine every day! The accommodation is extremely spacious and the owners have thought of absolutely everything you could need to make for a very comfortable and memorable stay. The views from the house are stunning. It's an ideal, peaceful place to get away from it all, unwind and chill out.

We were very surprised at the end of the week when the owners turned up 10 minutes before 10am and came in to the cottage to 'check we had left anything behind.' we felt very uncomfortable and left in a hurry - leaving behind some kitchen items we had taken with us. We were asked if we had 'definitely lifted up the rug in the lounge because of the dogs!' It is not the norm for the owners to turn up- we also had a phone call mid week asking if the laundry could be delivered! The bags were enormous and lived in the entrance area for 5 days. Not ideal at all when you pay for a luxury cottage for the week.

The cottage can not be faulted in terms of comfort and cleanliness. It's huge, we were a party of five and had much more space than we needed. Lovely bedding, beds comfy, kitchen extremely well equipped. Would be lovely in warm weather, masses of outdoor space/eating areas. A couple of us used the pool and reported that it was quite warm and very pleasant. Having the cinema screen tv room was a treat. If you don't have a car, the climb up to the cottage is a killer! Visited the otter and owl sanctuary, ten minutes walk away, really special. And lots of lovely walking. Special thanks for picking me up at the railway station (NOT close, by any stretch of the imagination) and sending my earrings back to me.

Great weekend away, would absolutely go back! Only moan and it was minute and down to personal preference, the master bedroom bed was a bit hard. But that's being picky! Great place!

It wasn't clear that the property was on so many levels, we have two people in our party that had walking difficulties and just to walk from room to room meant using stairs and this caused great distress.

The Old Barn is situated on a quiet country lane above the village of Chapel-en-le-Frith with fantastic views across Chapel and beyond towards Cheshire. The house was very clean and spacious, if you are into sound systems; there are a couple of excellent ones. One attached to the television in the first floor lounge and another to the cinema screen in a lounge on the ground floor. The games room provided the family with hours of pleasure. This also had a good sound system. Kitchen facilities are very good and there is plenty of crockery, glasses, and cutlery. The garden area is great with plenty of room for children to play well away from the road. Make sure you take your own bats etc. as the ones supplied are broken. Also excellent if you have dogs and there are some good off road walking paths taking you down to the village. Make sure you do not buy too much shopping, as the walk back is a very steep climb! Our only disappointment was the pool, which was cold. We did contact the owner during our stay that said they monitor it remotely and supposedly increased the heating. However, during our stay, the temperature only once reached 30c and most of the time was between 24 and 26c. We have since been in contact with the owners and say 26c is the normal/average temperature.
