We have stayed at The Mill House over 10 years running. I would recommend this location and have already booked for next year. It is based at one of the island's attractions but never gets overcrowded. As per the pictures, there are peacocks, doves, pigeons, chickens, ducks and geese free roaming and after the first couple of days you don't notice the wake up call in the early hours!!!! There is WiFi available. The best signal is at the cafe (just to the right in the picture) but I usually get an acceptable signal in the house. Having the cafe only a few feet away is handy if you are not going out that day. There is a large selection of meals (prepared fresh while you wait) and all the cakes, breads, jams are homemade. If (like my elderly Mum) you want to eat in the house they will cook your meal and allow you to take it to the house to eat. The staff are very friendly and helpful - in fact, I don't think there are any negatives to staying at this property. At 3pm every day (except Sat) there is a milling demonstration as this is still a working mill and is mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Their flour is available to buy. We travel from Lymington to Yarmouth on Wightlink (about 40 minutes) and it takes less than 15 minutes to get to Calbourne Watermill. Newspapers and groceries are not obtainable in Calbourne Village itself but as Yarmouth is so close this is not a problem. To sum it up - a perfect place. After the visitors have left you feel you are in the middle of the country and once the birds have settled down in the evening it is very peaceful. We are looking forward to our next visit in May 2018.

We really enjoyed our holiday. There was so much to do in the area. The Mill house was very comfortable, clean & had everything that we needed. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. We found that the food in the cafe was very good but expensive for a family. We even got used to being woken up every morning with the sound of the cockerill.

Lovely comfortable house. Great to have the use of the grounds. Loved the birds. Only criticism is that a couple of the windows need some attention, would not close properly.
