Comfortable, cosy cottage. Very peaceful setting. Welcoming, friendly hosts. Good local amenities. Well placed for visiting all there is to see in the Lake District. We would happily recommend The Mains.

Fabulous, comfortable, beautifully furnished cottage set in lovely gardens with everything the Lakes District has to offer all within easy driving distance (also seems to be well serviced with buses throughout whole area and train at Penrith 3 miles away). Elizabeth and Ted great hosts and had lots of good ideas for places to visit. Would highly recommend especially to Australians as a true country cottage in a lovely village.

A pretty cottage with its own working aga cooker. Lovely owners, friendly and helpful. Super garden.

Excellent in all respects. Beautiful garden, lovely quiet location and helpful owners. Wi-fi that is easy to access, modern TV and DVD, but best of all a charming, characterful and homely cottage. Cooking on an Aga was a new experience. We would have no hesitation in returning.
