We received a warm and friendly welcome from the owners. There was a informative guide book about the property when we arrived. The Aga was simple to use and made the home really warm and welcoming. The cottage was well set out, excellent homely facilities and the gardens were beautiful. It was incredibly peaceful and relaxing with quick and easy access to motorways and the towns in the lake district. We had a wonderful time and hope to return again next year. We really enjoyed cooking on the aga, the local produce is wonderful and we made brilliant home cooked meals rather than going out to restaurants, although the local restaurants are also excellent. A very relaxing stay, thoroughly recommended.

The cottage was easy to find and in a good central location for visiting the lakes. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Cottage very comfortable and clean. We particularly enjoyed the use of the garden. It was a good relaxing holiday and would recommend this venue to other holiday makers.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful part of the world and it certainly exceeded expectations with quality furnishings throughout. Although we found the roundabouts a bit busy it didn't matter that much as the cottage was so cosy and comfortable we were quite happy to stay in. The village was really nice with only one pub but the food was excellent and there was always a nice atmosphere. Elizabeth and Ted whilst being friendly and helpful were never intrusive, and it's obvious how much they love their property as the gardens were immaculate and every room was like a work of art with such attention to detail. We will certainly be going again.

Lovely, comfortable cottage in a brilliant location, ideal for exploring all that the Lake District has to offer. There's even a great "real-ale" pub and a restaurant in the village that both serve good food. Will definitely return for another visit.

A perfect base to explore the Lakes and Hadrian's Wall. Elisabeth and Ted are wonderful hosts and this lovely cottage had everything we could have possibly hoped for. We will definitely come again!
