The loft is clean, well equipped with a very attractive showeroom. However, there is no provision for adequately darkening the room at night, of the 3 velux windows only 1 has a blackout blind and the Apex window remains uncovered. I found my sleep disturbed because of this. Additionally the owners ask, understandably, the windows remain closed during high winds of whilst you are out, as a result the room becomes exceedingly warm, again I found my sleep disturbed because we couldn't cool the room sufficiently. Finally, because the photo in the advertisement showed the door open we expected there to be a small balcony, in fact there is no open space, the door is fronted by a glass panel.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; As a previous Gold Star Award property, we have high standards and are sorry to hear that your stay was not as positive as you had hoped. As seen in the photos, the beauty of The Loft is the fantastic view through the apex window. We have not used curtains or blinds as we didn’t want to hinder the view as most guests like to be able to wake up and look straight out to sea from the comfort of their bed. However we have partitions located in the wardrobe which can be placed in front of the window to provide shade from the light. We also have blackout blinds available which can be provided on request. Additionally, we have a light weight duvet located underneath the bed for guests to use should they get too hot at night. Although we ask that the windows are not opened in high winds, the Velux windows all have trickle events which can be left open and there is a window at the rear of The Loft which is more sheltered. We’re also sorry you thought there was an outside balcony. Having checked the website it does state that there is a Juliette balcony which you can see in the photos. The Loft has a help booklet which contains our contact details and we would have happily assisted with these matters and done our best to make you comfortable had we known. We encourage all our guests to contact us should they have any difficulties that we can help with and make your stay more enjoyable.

The view from The Loft is even better 'in the flesh.' This is ideally situated for a couple who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of some of the busier resorts. There was a lovely cream tea waiting on arrival which was much appreciated. All in all a lovely holiday.

This was our second stay in the Loft (which says it all) and the standards had not slipped. It has a fantastic view and is very comfortable. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay perfect. I highly recommend this for couples who need to recharge their batteries.

The Loft has fantastic views, it is very clean, well appointed and maintained by very nice caretakers. The only problem is the low ceiling because if you are anywhere near 6 foot tall you will hit your head as you walk round the end of the bed. If you are fit, and petite it is great.

Enjoyed our stay, and would stay again. The view is wonderful and ever changing. Lovely walk along the beach to the cafe. Used the community bus to go to Plymouth, just look at the notice board and ring the number to get picked up. Very relaxing stay.

We enjoyed a few days of welcome sunshine and rest in this delightful flat. It is very romantic, tucked away at roof height above the street, and with an uninterrupted view of the sea. Very dramatic and peaceful. We recommend it unreservedly.

View was perfect. Room just a little bit to small - especially for tall people (pitched roofs). Kitchen and bedroom in one room. So one more small room would be perfect. No wardrope - so not so much space for clothes. But these are really the only "bad" things :-)
