All round perfect cottage retreat although a car is essential to reach the cottage location as it is set off the main A road. There are some pleasant walks from the doorstep & we enjoyed the freedom of letting ourselves in upon arrival & seeing ourselves out upon departure without meeting the owners directly although we shared good communication with the owners prior to our arrival. We wouldnt hesitate to choose the Lodge again. Thank you.

We had an excellent holiday in a vey comfortable cottage very close to many attractions which meant few car miles covered in the week. Nearest shop was about one and a half miles away but a quite severe walk for older people. Very helpful and pleasant owners.

Cottage was ideal for our stay with everything we needed. Perfectly situated for access to all parts of the Cotwolds. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Pity about the weather.

The Lodge is comfortable and charming and perfect for a "get away from it all" break. It is in a lovely rural location and perfectly situated for discovering the Cotswolds. I would have no hesitation in returning.

There was only one night storage heater in the living area & a decrepit connector heater which blew the fuse. It is a well known fact that storage heaters are rubbish & have been since they were first installed in the late 1960's. The bedroom was warmest but the bathroom badly needed heating as the heated towel rail was insufficient. Also, as common with a lot of properties, there was no first aid kit, which should be a priority.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; I am grateful for this guest's feedback. I am sorry they were disappointed with some aspects of their stay at The Lodge, and apologise if they felt I could have made their holiday better. Thank you for pointing out about the missing First Aid kit; in fact there had been a kit provided in The Lodge but it appears to have been ‘removed’ by someone; I have now replaced this. One of the advantages of The Lodge is that we live adjacent to the property - so are available when such issues arise. It is a pity that this guest's concerns about the heating were not raised with me at the time - had I known this I would have arranged for additional heaters to be provided. The heating at the Lodge is night storage and this is clearly stated in the property description (it is worth pointing out that the heater was installed by us in the last few years - and not the 1960s!). Although the feedback mentions a ‘decrepit heater’ this has been working well and has been regularly‘PAT’ tested. I was surprised to see the very low ratings given by this customer in categories such as “location” - these are quite out of line with other feedback (which typically give ratings of 8 or 9 with comments like “brilliant location”) so am unable to suggest how we could improve that aspect.

A warm and well maintained cottage, with all necessary equipment available. A good shower with plenty of hot water. The cottage was well placed for some lovely walks from the door. It was also close to a number of well known Cotswold villages. The owners were on hand if needed. We would certainly recommend this cottage, for a quiet and comfortable stay in the Cotswolds.

Pleasant, cosy cottage in a lovely quiet little village. Lots of picturesque villages nearby to visit.
