Description

A detached property in a quiet village location overlooking open countryside and river - A great retreat for active couples.

A detached holiday cottage in the grounds of the owner’s property, with views across the open countryside and down river. A perfect retreat for active couples who enjoy cycling, canoeing and hiking, or for those who are just in search of picturesque settings, quiet walks and visits to the local pub. Set in the pretty riverside village of Calstock, in the heart of the Tamar Valley (a quiet area of Cornwall close to the border with Devon). It is a great base from which to explore many areas, including the market town of Tavistock, Dartmoor with rugged tors, rural mid Cornwall, or even the sweeping beaches on the north and south Cornish coastlines. There is a public slipway into a tidal river available in the village. A local motorcycle festival takes place in the village during the first weekend in August each year. Shop and pub ¼ mile.

Living room with French doors/kitchen with breakfast bar. Shower room with toilet. External utility. First floor: Double bedroom with 5ft bed and door leading to garden.

The Little House was our best holiday in Cornwall. Got back last week and already booked for next year. The house is beautiful, in such a lovely location and Celia & David are lovely people. I can't say enough good things about The Little House. It was excellent.

The problem with this holiday cottage is the location. Vertually nothing in the immediate area, you need to drive everywhere.

It was a very nice stay with "The Little House" in that very beautiful Village of Calstock. The owners were extremly friendly. Everything was fine...

The Little House was a great base for our week in the beautiful Calstock. There were lovely walks alongside the river and through the national trust woodlands and there was a great little village with a small shop, pubs and rather importantly, an ice cream shop! We really enjoyed also exploring Tavistock which wasn't far away, and not having any phone signal in order to have a proper break from work. Overall a really nice place to stay.

Everything was perfect - the owners and local community were so friendly. The walk to the house is steep but not a problem for us; the village is relaxed, peaceful and a very pleasant place to be. Excellent dog walks in both directions from the Tamar Inn. We would not hesitate to return and didn't want to leave despite living in Dorset which too is lovely.

Lovely house and very clean, but for us the access to the house through the village and up the hill by a poorly maintained narrow roadway not sign posted! Lots of building work taking place! Lovely friendly hostesss! Very steep access, but gave stunning views!kk
