Description

A wonderful property accommodating ten guests, with the added luxury of a hot tub and bi-folding doors leading to a gorgeous outdoor space.

This superb detached property has been extended to provide an extremely light and spacious retreat for couples or families. Set in 2½ acres with gated entry, with partial agricultural land and sloping banks to a gently flowing stream, this is a wonderful spot to enjoy alfresco dining or relax in the state of the art spa hot tub with mood lighting, sound system and central drinks table! With families in mind, there is also an outside games room with pool table, table football and games. The huge open-plan living/dining area has plenty of natural light with full length windows and bi-folding doors across the width of the room, as well as an electric wood burner within a brick fire surround. Solid oak flooring and doors have been skilfully fitted, and there is a well-equipped kitchen with a professional chefs range with induction hob and slate tiled floor. Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, two of which are twin rooms, with a shared family bathroom, and on the first floor there are two en-suite bedrooms. All of the double beds are complete with luxurious Vi-Spring mattresses.

The owner (formerly a Michelin-starred chef) resides in a renowned restaurant serving fine English/French Gourmand cuisine, 800 yards away, and there are two pubs within a 5-minute drive. There is so much to do in this popular area all year round. The nearest town is Fordingbridge on the banks of the River Avon. It was recorded in the Domesday Book and the first Great Bridge, built in medieval times, is upstream from the ford and is a major feature of the town with its seven graceful arches. The town has developed into a wonderful place for visitors with its beautiful scenery, nature havens, cycleways and welcoming people. There is a museum, Alderholt Mill, dating back to the 15th century, which serves cream teas at weekends; they also offer milling demonstrations, and Braemore Church exhibits many Saxon features, and is believed to have been founded soon after. Within easy driving distance are beaches at Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks and Studland Bay. Also within easy reach are Poole Nature Reserve, Brownsea Island, and to the west, The Purbecks, Corfe Castle, and Jurassic coastline.

Moors Valley is a popular place to visit and is dog friendly, and offers scenic walks and excellent wildlife spotting. There are a host of recreational activities such as angling, orienteering, cycle hire, golf, Go Ape Treetop Adventure, Forest Segway, walking groups, canoeing and pétanque. Avon Heath is also nearby and is ideal for keen walkers. There are various fishing lakes (mainly carp) and golf courses in the area too. The New Forest National Park is easily accessible, which provides miles of scenic walks and a network of bridle paths and footpaths, and you can often find the ponies and cattle roaming the streets in one of the many picturesque villages. There is a waterpark not far away, as well as a leisure centre with swimming pool.

The property is very convenient for road links to the beautiful cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury, National Trust homes and gardens, including Forde Abbey and Kingston Lacey, Christchurch’s harbour, Paultons Park, Adventure Wonderland and Stonehenge. Other attractions include Marwell Zoo, Monkey World, Beaulieu Motor Museum, Bovington Tank Museum, the New Forest Otter and Owl Park and maritime Southampton. Beach 12 miles. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 330 yards.

This property is stunning, everything is top quality from the minute you drive through the gates. We loved how you could open up the doors making the garden feel like it was almost inside the lounge. The hot tub again is top quality and relaxing any time of day. I am a really bad sleeper, but slept so well on the comfortable beds. Just a short walk down the road for what must be the best dinner for miles around. You certainly need a car, which enables you easy access to Poole, Lyminington, Brockenhurst etc and of course you are never far away from the beautiful ponies and donkeys in the New Forest. Can highly recommend this property and we certainly hope to return

    Response from:

Beautiful place to stay with everything you need. Few minor things could be improved for an even better stay. We were blessed with amazing weather in Aug for the UK which meant we really made use of the great outdoor space and hot tub. We really hope to go back :-)

Response on behalf of the owner: Glad you really enjoyed your stay and we have made the improvements through your advice, thanks.

An excellent property with everything you could want for your holiday and more. As we only stayed at the property due to a mix up with our original booking, we were extremely pleased with this alternative.
