A lovely and spacious house set in a rural setting provided an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The property was clean with all facilities including off road parking for a number of cars. A barn owl visited the adjacent field every evening as well as other birds and wildlife. RSPB Minsmere is nearby as well as a number of interesting towns.

This was a very nice cottage and had all the required facilities, it was also in a good location for visiting most of Suffolk and Norfolk. This cottage was listed as child friendly but did not have any blackout blinds and had thin curtains where the light shined through which meant my child strugged to get to sleep at night and if he woke up during the night he had the same problem trying to get back to sleep. There is also a least one peacock on the property which without fail sung up until around ten pm every night and started singing again from around 4.30am in the morning. This made it very difficult for adults to sleep and even more difficult for a child to sleep and as a result all who stayed here were awake from 4.30am every morning without fail. As this was supposed to be a holiday this was not helpful at all. There were no local shops in the area to buy any basics and without a car you would be stranded.

It was fine but if you go during harvest which for us this year was August , be prepared for tractors and farm machinery working late into the night and thundering past your house very early in the morning. Not perfect for our 2 year old girl's sleep.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner; We are very sorry that your toddler was disturbed by tractors. Unfortunately, we have no control over local farmers and the Lions' Den is in the country surrounded by fields of crops which have to be harvested. At certain times of the year farmers do indeed work round the clock as they are dependent on weather conditions. To reduce the effect on sleep we recommend opening windows and shutting bedroom curtains during the day to air and cool, and then shutting windows at night. (They are double glazed) If some need to be open, use those furthest from the road.
