If you are looking for peace & quiet, with wildlife in your garden, in a rural location, The Lion's Den is perfect. A wonderful place to relax away from the bustle of modern life. The cottage is well equipped, with large spacious rooms for both living & sleeping and has everything you need for a self catering holiday. The owners are welcoming, and available, should you need them. It is a great base for exploring both Suffolk & Norfolk. We spent 2 relaxing weeks there and would return ourselves, as well as recommend the cottage to anyone wanting a peaceful holiday.

We absolutely loved our stay here . Clean spacious and well equipped cottage. Lots of wild peacocks outside. Location was perfect for us as we love the peace and quiet. Would definitely recommend. You have to drive to find a pub/supermarket but not a problem.

The Lion's Den was a lovely, clean, well equipped house and well laid out and spacious. It could have done with more garden furniture. Whilst knowing that we were by farms, we were a bit taken aback by the very pungent farmyard smells, which meant we couldn't comfortably enjoy the garden or open the patio doors. I wish there had been a mention of it somewhere. And advice.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately there are occasional farm yard smells. These are dependent on farm activities and weather conditions. They are unlikely to spoil your holiday unless you spend most of your time at the property.

A lovely and spacious house set in a rural setting provided an enjoyable and relaxing stay. The property was clean with all facilities including off road parking for a number of cars. A barn owl visited the adjacent field every evening as well as other birds and wildlife. RSPB Minsmere is nearby as well as a number of interesting towns.

This was a very nice cottage and had all the required facilities, it was also in a good location for visiting most of Suffolk and Norfolk. This cottage was listed as child friendly but did not have any blackout blinds and had thin curtains where the light shined through which meant my child strugged to get to sleep at night and if he woke up during the night he had the same problem trying to get back to sleep. There is also a least one peacock on the property which without fail sung up until around ten pm every night and started singing again from around 4.30am in the morning. This made it very difficult for adults to sleep and even more difficult for a child to sleep and as a result all who stayed here were awake from 4.30am every morning without fail. As this was supposed to be a holiday this was not helpful at all. There were no local shops in the area to buy any basics and without a car you would be stranded.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the Owner; Thank you for your feedback. The nearest shops are 4 miles away in either direction. They are conveniently situated as you are very likely to pass a supermarket each day as you come home from your outings. Peacocks do not belong to the property but they may roam there - they are only noisy in the spring.
