Customers’ Choice Award 2018
Located in St Austell, 2 miles from the beach, this holiday property is within walking distance from the Eden Project.

This barn conversion, adjacent to the owners’ home, has been developed in an historic Cornish clay drying kiln in one of Cornwall’s hidden wooden valleys, and is just 2 miles away from the beautiful south coast and beach. This holiday property provides ’upside-down’ accommodation, and has bags of space, as well as a small courtyard terrace and a large shared lawned area. The popular Eden Project attraction can be reached by foot from The Linhay, which, in line with its eco credentials, means that guests get a discount on entry fees. Visit the seafaring town of Fowey with its historic links to Daphne du Maurier, its royal yacht club and regatta, and the narrow lanes crammed with cafes, restaurants, gift and craft shops. A ferry can be taken across the estuary to Polruan, where a dramatic circular coastal walk starts. Charlestown is a World Heritage Site, and home to tall sailing shops, a shipwreck museum and excellent pubs and cafes - Lostwithel, home to many antique shops, is also minutes away. Lanhydrock House and Gardens is a large National Trust estate, home to off-road cycle and walking trails; easily reached and popular with visitors. Golf, surfing, cycling and horse riding are all available close by, proving that The Linhay is the ideal base for exploring Cornwall and all it has to offer. Shop 400 yards, pub 700 yards and restaurant 500 yards.

This is a fabulous place to stay, the standard of accommodation is very high, the beds are comfy and you have everything you could need. The stars, owls and wildlife were an added bonus. Take heed of the stairs warning as children would need supervising to access the garden area but the views are beautiful.

The Linhay is a very well presented and equipped property, we liked the quirkiness of the topsy turvey living/sleeping arrangements. A safety gate would be a good addition for the steep stairs. The cottage is situated in a good location for exploring much of what Cornwall has to offer which we took good advantage of, personally a little closer to a beach would, at our present time (with a young family) suit us better. The actual amenities in St Blazey were very disappointing and drab. We will definitely be returning to Cornwall to explore the lovely scenery and sights it has to offer.

As a young family of four the Linhay was a perfect holiday home from home. Would love to stay again and have recommended it to all our friends and family.

The Linhay was fantastic accommodation, it is equipped with everything that you could ever need, it was good condition, clean, light and airy. Its a nice quiet location If I had a negative it would be that blinds should be on the velux windows in the lounge/kitchen. We will definitely be returning

We stay in holiday cottages 3/4 times a year and this is one of the best we've stayed at. It was immaculate and the temperature was just right inside - a lovely place to return to at the end of the day. The location was fabulous for exploring the local area - nothing was very far away. We'd definitely book here again if we came to this area again.
