Unusual property in excellent location. Quiet side street with views from balcony of river, bowling club and more. A few low beams not ideal for the taller person. Otherwise most enjoyable stay.

We went for the Christmas week so more expensive however it was ideal for relaxing and exploring. Well situated for pubs, restaurants, takeaways, lovely shops and cafes. In fact it was one of the best places to stay for such an array of amenities right on your doorstep. A well equipped and attractive property.

The Leat has a perfect location in Malmesbury, with it's own parking. The house is beautifully appointed with great views from the living room. This was the perfect base for the history festival, just 5 minutes walk to the town hall and 10 to the Abbey providing a very comfortable retreat to enjoy all the new books.

My mum and I (60 and 29) visited The Leat for a short break following a difficult year, so needed a true break to relax - and we weren't disappointed. We felt at home immediately in this gorgeous, clean, well presented apartment. The location is perfect, walking distance of shops (and just 6 miles from the M4) yet so peaceful and quiet, the only sounds of an evening were the ducks and the bowlers on the green! The balcony is just perfect for an afternoon cup of tea in the sunshine. The beds, wow, so huge I almost got lost, very comfortable and I slept like a log every night - although that might have been to do with our daytime excursions, as Bath, Longleat and Westonbirt Arboretum were all on the list - as I say, the location really is great for going out and about. The owners also left a lovely little walking book which we used to explore Malmesbury, although be warned, the book's idea of an 'easy' walk is definitely only easy if you're used to country walking! Only a couple of 'advisories' - the stairs really are steep, the owners are honest about this, if you struggle with steep stairs this sadly isn't for you - and beware the beam over the main bathroom shower - I'm a 5'4 petite young lady but did have to duck a little...! This is one of only three places in 12 years of 'staycations' I wouldn't hesitate to book again - as someone who admits they are very picky (verging on OCD) it met my standards, which, mum will verify, says a lot! Looking forward to going back with my sister next year.
