Description

A truely unique holiday ’cottage’ set in a small village with excellent access to Worchestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire.

Romers Farm consists of one detached, and two semi-detached properties situated in the owner’s grounds on a working farm, in the village of Bockleton, near to the historic market town of Tenbury Wells. The former Hop Kiln and Wainhouse have been sympathetically converted, retaining many original features, and provides three spacious and comfortable holiday properties. This is an excellent base from which to explore Worcestershire, Shropshire and Herefordshire with a wealth of activities. A short drive takes you to Ludlow, famous for its castle, festivals, quaint streets, shops and open markets; it also has an abundance of restaurants and eateries for fine dining, some Michelin starred, and it is a definite must for a visit. The area boasts an abundance of National Trust properties including Berrington Hall, Croft Castle, Hampton Court Gardens and the Brockhampton Estate, all within easy driving distance. Enjoy a day out to the cathedral cities of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester and the abbey at Tewkesbury. For the more active there is golf, horse riding and carp fishing available locally. Offa’s Dyke and the Malvern Hills, for serious walkers, are within easy reach. Book lovers can enjoy a trip to the renowned book town of Hay-on-Wye whilst theatre lovers can venture out to Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare, and the home of Anne Hathaway with her beautiful cottage. Perhaps you would prefer to sit and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the unspoilt countryside and woodlands close by, or observe the activities on this working farm. Whatever you choose to do, one holiday may not be enough! Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles. The properties can be booked together to accommodate up to 28 guests.

Hop kiln cottage is a lovely cottage. We went with another family so there was 4 adults and 4 children under age 7. The cottage is in a rural location so you do need drive to get anywhere but we liked this as its very quiet. Its very spacious and clean. Jane (the owner) was very attentive and helpful. The kids loved the cottage being on a farm and took daily walks visiting all the animals, they especially liked the sheep dogs and new puppy that arrived a few days into our visit. Thank you for a lovely stay - we will definitely be coming back.

The Hop Kiln is a lovely property , loads of space , great garden which the kids loved. The owners are helpful and friendly and my boys got to meet Rosa the farms newest calf. As well as the property having a garden there is also a little play area with slide swings and a trampoline , fab for the children. We had a lovely holiday and would go back .

We loved it. The kids and the adults fell in love with the cottage and we would definitely visit again. The owners were really nice and helpful. Lots to do in surrounding area for kids and the grown ups. I would recommend to my friends and family.

A beautiful cottage with everything we could have needed. The owners were very friendly and we did enjoy seeing the baby lambs being born. The only drawback was the location. No easy walk to a village or anywhere else. To see anything of the area meant we had to use the car. One of our party had just had surgery so we just stayed in sewing!! As we were a party of quilters no hardship there.

Very impressed with this holiday cottage. It exceeded expectations. Situated on a working sheep and beef farm which we were free to wander around. Kitchen was well equipped. Sitting room very comfortable. Bedrooms all comfortable. Property very clean. The owners were very friendly and we were able to watch some lambs being born during our stay which was amazing.
