We have stayed in many cottages from this company, usually when you arrive there is a pint of milk and tea bags etc so after a long journey you can pop the kettle on, sometimes there is a home made cake, or biscuits. Usually there are dish washer tablets too. the Heights didn't have any of these. So Initially we were disappointed as the welcome wasn't there. Also the parking is a bit vague. HOWEVER once we saw the real location, the garden and the bedrooms we were pleased. Its a basic clean and tidy house in a brilliant location for dog walks. No frills, but a good little house. The only real negative comment is the odd dining table arrangement which I am sure could be so much better. This cottage feels like a real business holiday let, where as usually we stay in more owner involved friendly more homely holiday lets. And I think the business side of the holiday cottage comes across too much. BUT great location, and super comfy bed!

We had a great holiday at The Heights, the location was perfect for us and our dog as 100 yards from the cottage was the start of a National Trust walk up into the hills, which was perfect for giving our dog a quick walk in the mornings/evenings and a very pleasant surprise. There is a rather steep hill to walk up from the town, but if you walk along Langrigge Drive then it is a much easier incline than the main road up. I wouldn't let the thought of this put you off though. My only problem with the cottage at all was that the double bed was very hard, we ended up sleeping on the sofas most of the night as it was more soft and comfortable for us haha, but other people may prefer harder mattresses. All in all it was a great stay and a perfect location for exploring Bowness and Windermere and heading out to other areas for walking. It is close enough to all the shops/restaurants that you won't need to use a car to get to them yet it is out of the centre enough that it is quiet and not over run by all the tourists that visit the town. I would thoroughly recommend this cottage.

A lovely, cosy cottage in a great spot. Very comfy beds and spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay there again as it was such good value for money for the Lake District.

Not as clean as I would expect from a cottage which had been cleaned before our arrival. You could tell that previous guests had had a dog from the amount of dog hair around the downstairs. 1 pan had been left with grease still in it. (Not been cleaned?). No plug for bath. Doorstrip between bed 1 and bathroom was not secure and had screw protruding from it (which we caught our foot on) so covered it while staying.

This is a lovely cottage and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bed in main bedroom was lovely and comfortable. After reading previous reviews we were prepared for the walk up the steep hill to get the cottage, however there is an alternative route which is slightly easier. Only fault was the cleanliness in the living room, loads of cobwebs and settees could do with being updated.
