We had such a lovely holiday here, The Hayloft is just perfect for a couple looking to get away from it all! The apartment was absolutely spotless could not fault any of the cleaning at all. A fully equipped kitchen was perfect as we were not looking to eat out very much. The location was great, easy access from the main roads and so peaceful! Could not fault the owners and the property at all, we will be returning very soon!

Though the area is nice and position in the eden valley is good the apartmentment itself does lack a few basic things. The immediate view out of the windows are not very appealing. Theres 4 holiday caravans out the back which is fine except the nearest one looks Delapidated and a bit of an eyesore. The other window looks straight into the farm yard which we thought spoilt the view too. The first thing which we thought unusual was that there was no welcome pack. Something that would tell us where everything was. Something that would point us in the direction of say the nearest hospital or doctor, or good places to eat or even to explain where the shared washing machine is. The appartment is pretty clean and tidy but comfort can be lacking. The 2 seat couch wasn't very comfortable and probably due a replacement. The kitchen needed more equipment for cooking like baking trays and another large pan perhaps. All the cottages we've stayed at over the years have had things like "clingfilm" "foil" spair bin bags etc. The skirting board in the bathroom is not attached to the wall and the bathroom door is pretty warped which makes it hard to close. This is a nice little appartment in a lovely part of the eden valley which just needs a little more thought and planning to make it a better experience.

    Response from: Administrator

Response on behalf of the owner; We are sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with some aspects of your stay at The Hay Loft. We spend a lot of time and effort on The Hay Loft and we strive for our guests to have the best possible time by providing high standards and a friendly and helpful service. We try to welcome all our guests in person but unfortunately, were unable to catch you at the cottage during your stay. However emergency information, eating out and where to visit guides are available in the cottage. We will look to formalise these into a welcome pack. Thank you for bringing the issues in regards to the skirting board and bathroom door to our attention. These have now been addressed. We are happy to provide wine, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, shampoo, shower gel, soap as well as spare bin bags etc. and will certainly consider cling film in the future. Unfortunately I feel the particularly wet and windy January weather may have affected your holiday experience at the Hayloft. Previous reviews are consistent in their praise of the cleanliness and comfort of the cottage and we would encourage prospective customers to read these reviews for a true representation of our property.
