This converted, detached Grade II listed barn, located on a quiet sheep farm, has far-reaching views across the Axe Valley towards Seaton. It has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain, and would be ideal for two to three families accommodated in 5 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. The heating comes from a wood biomass boiler, and the electricity is via a 50kw solar panel array. You have freedom to roam 150 acres of green fields and woodland, or sit out on the enclosed private patio with its water fountain and revel in the beautiful scenery or watch the wildlife and farm animals including ‘Naughty Nobby’ the farm ostrich! A children’s play area is available with nature walks and picnic sites. Seaton with its mile long beach is 2 miles away with the famous Seaton and District Electric Tramway, golf, fishing, and superb cliff walks. The seaside resort of Lyme Regis, with its Cobb, offers good sailing and water-skiing. Visit the Donkey Sanctuary, Broadwindsor Craft Centre, Crealy Adventure Playground at Exeter or Bicton Park Gardens at Budleigh. The Blackdown Hills where gorse-clad hilltops descend through to secluded wooded valleys. Walkers will delight in reaching the Duke of Wellington’s monument. Shop 1.5 miles, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

    We loved it. The setting this cottage is in is amazing , a true working farm in the countryside with spectacular views. Mike the owner gives you a very warm welcome and guides you through everything you need to know. You are ten minutes from beer.ten minutes from Seaton and about fifteen minutes from Lyme Regis. Totally dog friendly and a very cosy cottage for a large family. Can't wait to go back.

    nice relaxing holiday. cottage was very good - clean, tv in all rooms and kitchen was very clean, lots of cupboard room and good cooking facilities. The tea and biscuits when we arrived was a nice touch and the owner is very pleasant and helpful. Any problems - which were just a couple of bust light bulbs - were fixed promptly. Plenty of walking tracks and the people in the local village Colyton were very friendly. Recommend the Kingfisher pub for food, drinks and company. There is a local Spar and post office in the village, a chip shop and cafes. Beaches were good too, some dog friendly shingle beaches.

    The facilities were fantastic. Having a disabled member in the group was no hardship, good bedroom spaces and easy access to all downstairs areas. The single tracks to the property could be a bit hairy but if you are careful it's no problem. Lovely walks as it's right in the middle of farmland but close to the local resort. Would not hesitate to recommend it. The owners are near to hand if you need anything.

    The Granary was ideal for a family celebration it was the perfect size for the party and 10 . The decor is dated but ok . The bedding is clean and adequate however I personally would renew it. The kitchen was well equipped, but it would have been nice to have liquid soap and a hand towel in the kitchen and a hand towel in the common bathroom downstairs. The chocolate biscuits and milk were appcieated but for the cost of the hire May bank holiday I felt feel short of a real welcome, my husband and I have moved to Combe Martin for a week in a cottage here we were supplied with tea milk butter homemade biscuits and a loaf of fresh baked bread ! also more cleaning products and toilet rolls. All of this makes me think The Granary maybe over priced especially for a May Bank holiday break.

    It was great in every sense. Clean and tidy, roomy, all in all it is a place where common sense works. The owner was there to help any enquires and answer any questions to make our stay as comfortable as possible. My left a necklace and it was recovered and then sent back to us in no time at no cost. Highly recommended! (except weathers.)

    The Granary is good value compared with other holiday cottages of similar size. The accommodation was ideal for four mature couples, although the bathrooms would benefit from some improvements. The location is excellent - the garden and patio area was better than we expected and there should be a photo of the outside seating area included in the advertising details. The kitchen was very well equipped.

    a perfect weekend break for family celebration of Golden wedding. Local inns and pubs are first class and we were able to fossil hunt with great enthusiasm. Having all the dogs with us was brilliant. How did Mike manage to order such perfect weather in March?
