Welcome Cottages

A carefully curated collection of properties that offer high quality, good value accommodation in great locations across the UK, Ireland, France and Italy

In an idyllic part of South Cornwall set with an AONB just 6 miles from St Mawes and a short drive to beaches.

Set within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, high on the Roseland Landscape, these two converted barns afford spacious ground floor holiday accommodation, with commanding views across the countryside. Situated just 6 miles from St Mawes, they are 1 mile from a golden sandy beach and a short drive from many other beautiful beaches. Although completely self-contained, they may be booked together. The renowned Philliegh Cookery School is close by and a great experience. This idyllic part of South Cornwall has much to offer visitors, including a picturesque coastal walk leading to St Anthony Head, with its superb views of Falmouth and the Black Rock. St Mawes itself abounds with restaurants, pubs and shops, and its clover-leaf shaped castle, built by Henry VIII, is well worth a visit. In summer there are boat trips up the river, passing through beautiful wooded creeks. There is a 2-acre paddock available for guests to use, ideal for ball games and dog exercising. Please note: The Long Barn (GW2) and The Granary (GW3) can be booked together to sleep up to 6 people. Shops 6 miles, pub, the famous Roseland Inn, ½ mile.

All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with breakfast bar and beams. 1 twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet. Slate floors throughout.

Both properties: Full oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. Stereo/CD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washer/dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Sitting-out area. Shared 2-acre paddock. Parking. No smoking. NB: Ornamental water pump in garden.

Fantastic location with unspoilt view over fields. Friendly hosts, warm and clean cottage with everything we needed. We only had a short break but would definitely come back again if visiting the same area. Comfortable beds, everything in the kitchen that we needed, and spacious bathroom with good shower. Lots of hot water. Directions to the property were clear and accurate - and essential! Only little niggles would be the number of light switches together - we could never remember which one to use for each light, so labelling would be helpful - and possibly an extra towel each, so when showering there is one for drying hair as well. Certainly not major problems, and overall we were very impressed.

A stunning property. Good base for travelling to various points of interest but village amenities very sparse.

Excellent cottage (best ever stayed in) in very well maintained grounds. Our hosts were lovely and very attentive and helpful. We certainly expect to re-visit next year. The Roseland peninsula is a lovely undiscovered part of Cornwall.
