This is our 4th or 5th stay at the Granary, which tells you everything you need to know. The cottage provides excellent accommodation for 6 people and is situated in the lovely quiet village of Aldbrough St John, which is perfect for walking our dog. The fully enclosed garden is a great bonus as well.

We stayed over a cold weekend and enjoyed the countryside walks and visit into Richmond. The cottage is quite spectacular, very clean and modern. The owner Mr. Todd was very welcoming and even organised a delivery of coats we’d left at the property following our stay! I recommend The Granary for anyone who would like a relaxing break in the country in a wonderful cottage with everything you need and more.

Enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break at The Granary with the family. The cottage was decorated for Christmas which was a lovely touch. Very comfortable, well equipped a real home from home. Lovely open fire. Ideal location for Darlington as we were seeing our son performing in Pantomine. Very helpful and friendly owner who greeted us on our arrival. We all had a happy time including our little dog. Loved it.

This is a lovely property, so spacious, clean and comfortable. We were 6 adults and there was plenty of room to cook, eat and socialise. The open fire kept us warm and cosy, although the heating system is brilliant and you would be warm enough whatever the weather. We ate at the village pub, which served good food and was very welcoming. Richmond is not far away and is an interesting small town. We walked alongside the river, through some woods to a pub as well as doing a lovely walk from the property. All in all, a relaxing weekend in a very well maintained property.

A very well appointed property in a quiet cosy village setting. Very well equipped in all respects. The owners are thoughtful and most welcoming. Nice local walks and plenty of country pubs serving meals within a short distance. Very good WiFi links in the property but note mobile phone reception in the area is poor/non existent. The Granary is wonderful place for a quiet country holiday and we would stay there again without hesitation.

This is a fantastic stone cottage in a lovely village. The Granary was a joy to stay in, and so comfortable. There is a beautiful village green with children's play area. We understand that it will be updated soon. The stream runs along the green (shallow and great for "Poo Sticks") Children got to meet other children on the green and play. There is a pub, and cricket pitch, and a football pitch too. Sitting on a bench watching a village cricket game on a summer evening was such a pleasure, well worth the drive from the south of England.
