Enjoy a walking holiday, with many walks from the door and the Pennine Way just 1 mile away.

Set in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this completely self-contained holiday apartment forms part of Hurries Farm, which dates back to the early 18th century. Set on the owner’s working farm, there are sheep, a herd of pedigree Aberdeen-Angus cattle and, more unusually, a trio of rhea, which are like small ostrich. Visitors are welcome to explore the farm environment at their leisure. There are many varied walks direct from the door, with the Pennine Way 1 mile away at Airton, and Malham is easily accessible. The traditional market towns of Skipton and Settle are just 9 miles and offer a wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants. Shop 1½ miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

External stairs to balcony and entrance. First floor: Living/dining room/kitchen area. 1 twin bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Narrow, open-tread stairs to second floor: 1 galleried double bedroom.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Oil central heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Freeview TV. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Use of owner’s washing machine in shared utility room. Freezer. Shared garden and furniture. Balcony. Parking (2 cars). No smoking. NB: Small stream in grounds, 20 yards.

Had a great stay, the owners were friendly and the location is ideal for the southern Dales.

We loved our stay. The granary was just what we were looking for; somewhere cosy to stay over the New year break. The owners were lovely; very chatty and friendly. The mezzanine bedroom was incredibly comfy, and very clean throughout. It was lovely having eggs and homemade cake to welcome us on arrival. We're definitely planning on coming back to stay. Great value for money!

We had a fantastic stay in the Granary which is small and perfectly formed. Lovely cake on arrival and the place was clean, cosy and welcoming. One of the tidiest working farms we have seen and an interesting collection of animals (including Rheas). Highly recommended.

A very comfortable, well-appointed cottage in a beautiful setting. The cottage is compact, but ideal for a couple although standing up in the mezzanine bedroom needs to be done with caution. We had everything we needed, the hosts were friendly and welcoming and the location was excellent. We would definitely go back again and recommend it to others.

I came to stay for 4 nights with my 10 year old (private school educated and very sensible and well behaved) identical twins. The male host was immensely pleasant and extremely kind to take us around the farm, which we thoroughly enjoyed and were grateful for. However, the female hostess was repeatedly extremely rude and offensive to myself and my sons accusing us of stealing 3 teaspoons (!!!!!!!?????) and not leaving the cottage clean. When I corrected her by explaining all the cleaning I had done, including leaving all the kitchen items and bathroom immaculate, even washing out the previously dirty, stained and smelly kitchen bin, she continued to totally disagree!!!!!!!!! Not only was this offensive and inappropriate as she was plain wrong with both her claims and accusations re 3 teaspoons missing (????!!!!!!) and the cleanliness issue, it is the first time in renting cottages over the last 10 years that anyone has said anything other than thanks for leaving their property in such a clean state. The female hostess also accused my sons of scribbling on some drawer fronts. I asked my sons about this and they assured me that they categorically did NOT 'draw' on the drawers. They are NOT toddlers!!!! I was extremely dissatisfied with all this nonsense and it left a very very sour taste after a nice break during which we attended a lovely wedding. Also I suffer from a dust allergy which causes me to sneeze and my eyes to be irritable and red with any excess of dust. For the full period of our stay, and a few days afterwards (when the residue of dust was getting out of my system), I suffered bouts of sneezing and extremely irritable eyes. In addition, parts of the Cottage were disgustingly filthy, such as the wooden dish and pan rack above the sink which had a very thick, sticky layer of grease and on top of that dust. It was most disgusting and totally unhygienic. Finally the vacuum did not suck!!! Little surprise that there is such an accumulation of dust which also seemed to attract swarms of flies in the evenings on the inside ceilings.
