first time to the area, nice place to get away from it all with some great places to eat out locally. But as for the gatehouse its self, strong smell of damp in the downstairs bedroom, bathroom downstairs in serious need of modernisation along with the kitchen with a cooker that is around 30 years old that was a poor one even in 1986. Living area wasn't comfortable very sub standard seating . Stayed in quite a few cottages in recent years and this is by far the worst I have had. The gate house does not offer the minimum expectations these days in my opinion.

We have been staying at The Gatehouse for six years now, we love it, it feels like a home from home. The location is outstanding in its beauty and so peaceful. The cottage is always clean and very tidy when we arrive, it feels as though no one has been since we last left, such is the high standard of cleanliness that the owner, has. Mr. Owens, the owner is always so welcoming and is a huge source of information about the area and nothing seems too much trouble for him. If there were to be any kind of problem we know is is at the end of the phone and would be there in 2 minutes!

The village shop was more like 800 yards, not 400, and access to the beach was quite a walk.

Great location for walking. The cottage requires up dating to compete with the market of superior cottages available on the market. The cottage was not incredibly clean, the kitchen was grimy. There was no welcome pack which most cottages provide now. Also the cottages instructions stated to use the wifi sparingly which I felt was unacceptable seeing as you had paid for it in the price of renting.

The Gatehouse is a good spot for exploring the beautiful island of Anglesey and especially the Anglesey Coastal Path (part of the Wales Coast Path) which is nearby. There are plenty of places to eat by travelling the short distance to Rhosneigr but if you want to stay local the The Crown pub in Aberffraw is highly recommened with lovely homemade food. Overall we will definitely be returning, we've done a bit of the coastal path - only another 100 miles to go.

We had a brilliant holiday. The cottage was lovely and in nice surroundings. It is handy for the village where there is a shop and a pub. The owner of the cottage was very friendly and helpful. There is lots to do on Anglesey. Recommended!

A beautiful, comfy, clean and well equipped cottage. The owner was very friendly and helpful and as we were there in December, had the fire lit for us which was so welcoming. We will certainly be visiting again and again.
