English Country Cottages

An inspiring collection of properties chosen for their character, luxury and heritage, all graded 4 star and above.

This delightful cottage enjoys amazing views of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty from its beautifully furnished interiors.

This delightful, Grade II listed, 17th-century, thatched cottage is set at the end of a quiet lane next to Longleat Deer Park and forest. It enjoys outstanding views over woods and hills and has its own garden with a barbecue. Traditionally furnished with comfortable cottage-style furnishings and antiques, it also benefits from all the equipment guests would expect in a contemporary home. In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it lies in a secluded, peaceful village on the Longleat Estate and is a great starting point for glorious walks with Heaven’s Gate panorama a 15 minute stroll away. Nearby are Longleat House and attractions, Stourhead Gardens, West Wiltshire Downs, Glastonbury, Wells, Montacute House, Cheddar Gorge, with Salisbury and Bath just ½-hour away. Angling (day tickets available), riding and golf locally, with a huge range of excellent pubs and restaurants, including the Bath Arms in the village a short walk and an even shorter drive away. Pub 1 mile.

This was a fourth stay at this lovely cottage. The location really suits us. You need a car as nearest shops several miles away. Hope to return soon.

We had a fabulous week. The cottage is wonderful and perfectly situated for visits to great places and lots of stunning walks from the doorstep. We'll definitely stay there again.

Really lovely cottage. All good except for the mattresses on the twin beds which were a bit hot and squelchy! Nevertheless we all enjoyed our stay enormously. Thank you!

Response on behalf of the owner: We are always grateful for feedback and we always ask our guests to let us know if there are problems so that we can deal with them immediately rather than read about them some weeks later. We have now replaced the single beds.

Lovely cottage very well equipped in a lovely quiet location, ideal for visiting Longleat and Bath. If you love walking there are several in the area which are well described by the owners who live next door and nothing is too much trouble for them . Was made very welcome when we arrived and supplied with a lovely homemade cream tea.

We used the cottage as a base to visit Longleat Safari park which it is very close to (recommend the two day ticket as there so much to see and do at Longleat). The layout of the cottage suited our group (two couples and one child) very well. The cottage was clean and comfortable and had everything that we needed. We only stayed for the weekend but would have liked to stay for longer and explore some of the beautiful countryside nearby.
