Alternatively visit the Wensleydale Creamery, famous for its cheese endorsed by Wallace and Gromit or visit the Dales Centre Museum. Nearby Semerwater, a large, natural lake provides a wealth of activities such as swimming, fishing (licence required) and sailing. These properties can be booked together to sleep 15+1. A beautiful and well equipped cottage. Within easy reach of all the local shops and restaurants. Helpful staff in the Park office who are on hand to help and give advice. We loved our stay.

Brilliant from getting there to leaving. The single bed mattresses though require up grading. Adult guests in the single beds say they were so cheap & uncomfortable. A shame really as everything else was spot on. Just a little glitch really, but little things becomes an issue for the sake of a few hundred pounds extra. Same applies to the barnhouse next door.

Our two family group had a lovely stay at The Farmhouse. The house happily accommodated three adults and four teenagers; two full size bathrooms accessible to all was a boon, and we appreciated that in the living room we could all sit comfortably. Hawes is a great base for a Dales holiday, and we enjoyed the five minute walk into town most days for provisions, whilst still enjoying a country holiday with great views of the Dales. The only reason this was not a top scorer in all categories was two points: we felt a larger or additional fridge was needed when catering for so many (though the kitchen is large, very well equipped, and there is a full size freezer) and as a group who love to play board games in the evenings on holiday the lighting in the dining area was very dim. Other than these very minor niggles this property is one of the best we've stayed in, and the grounds and games room on the site were a bonus. We would recommend The Farmhouse and would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed in the property next door on two previous occasions and was as satisfied staying at the Farmhouse if not more because of the enclosed garden for our dog.
