We went as a group of 10 for my 50th birthday on the 2nd March. Unfortunately it snowed the day before, and we panicked. Well we needn’t have, the staff phoned on the morning and warned me that due to the weather there was only one staff member on duty. We had booked in the bistro and was told we would have to accept whatever was given, which was understandable. When we arrived we met the one staff member, Taylor. He was just amazing and deserves a very special mention. I can imagine people in his situation would Have been miserable, he was receptionist, Barman and chef. He could not have done enough and was brilliant, he was funny, charming and helpful, couldn’t say enough about him. The cottage in terms of position and use of the facilities could Not have been better. My only criticism of the cottage is that it’s cold even with the heating on. Especially if you planned sitting in the lounge. We spent all the time in the kitchen which was really nice. The bedrooms were comfortable and more than adequate for us. The spa facilities for us were great as we basically had it to ourselves, as there were only four other guests. I think the bar has a nice feel to it, but I would say the food on the second night in the bistro was a bit bland, even though there were chefs there! However that aside we all agreed we would go back as it is really good value for money, and someone please say well done to Taylor, he’s a star!

The farmhouse was a great place for a reunion for 12 of us over the weekend. We were able to cook a large roast dinner in the kitchen because there were 2 good sized ovens and a large hob, and the dining table seated 12 easily. All 4 en-suite bedrooms upstairs were a nice size with comfortable beds, but the 2 downstairs bedrooms had to share a small shower room and a toilet located the other side of the kitchen so that wasn't ideal. Some of us made good use of the swimming pool and spa facilities which were an added bonus. Dinner on Friday evening was at the White Hart, a pub in walking distance with good unpretentious food and very friendly service. Great location for the house, and the proximity to the main road wasn't a problem.

We had a lovely weekend to celebrate a birthday and the farmhouse was very comfortable and warm. The only minor difficulty we had was with the set up of the bedrooms. We asked for one of the 4 en suite bedrooms to have twin beds but expected the other 3 bedrooms to be double beds as advertised. The downstairs accommodation was as advertised. This did not detract from a wonderful birthday weekend. There were 10 of us but the accommodation easily suited 12 or 13 people.

Perfect. 3 families gathered to celebrate an 80th birthday and it was just superb. The place was spotless. Everything worked. The spa was an added bonus and the staff there were so courteous.

The Farmhouse was exactly what we needed for a large family gathering, having the hotel on site meant more of the family could easily join us. Many of the family used the Spa and gym facilities. Being able to have our two dogs with us made it perfect although local walks were a drive away. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and the farmhouse was well equipped making catering for Christmas lunch (and other meals) for 18 possible and enjoyable.

We had our family Christmas at The Farmhouse and it was great. The owners had decorated the property in the Christmas spirit with a tree, ho ho ho :-) The kitchen in particular is fantastic. One slight negative is that there is no separate dining room, you had to eat in the kitchen but I think that maybe my preference, it bears no reflection on the property. Don't be fooled by the exterior, which could do with a lick of paint, the interior is excellent and we would definitely be back.

Use of the hotel facilities very good. Large garden for BBQ and for dog to run around. Rooms very good with ensuite. Would stay there again but would have liked to be able to open the windows as it was sunny days.

The house is just beautiful and the rooms are amazing. Only points down are due to service from the hotel who run the house as they weren't wholly friendly. But the house was just amazing.
