We had a fantastic week in The Farmhouse. Phil, the Estate Manager, met us on arrival and went through the cottage, showing us everything. The cottage is large and well equiped, but not designer, which is what we like. It was wonderful listening to the birds, watching the three sheepdogs playing, and exploring the Estate. Kilmartin in a very small village about 1.5 miles away with a museum. Lochgilphead is the nearest large village and has what you need. The whole area is of stunning beauty and scenery. The area is full of castles and cairns. If you like peace and quiet, with plenty of history to explore, then The Farmhouse is for you.

Only one thing i would have liked in the farmhouse and that was a open log fire. would add so much to the house. But apart from that great holiday.

Don't expect anything more than a comfortable old farmhouse ! Which was spot on for us with three spaniels! Had everything we needed and 900 acres for the dogs to explore. It was functional and comfortable, and large enough for us to accommodate visiting family.

As a young family with two small children we could have asked for no more. The farmhouse is comfortable and well equipped but not over done to make you nervous with the children. Beautiful location and Phil was great.

We took our two grandsons to The Farmhouse for the October break and they both loved it. The house itself was very clean and the kitchen well equipped however, the sitting room was a tad "overpopulated" with furniture. This was easily solved by moving the extra chairs etc into the downstairs bedroom (which wasn't being used) to create a cosier less cramped feel to the room. The caretakers, Ollie and Phil were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

A large Farmhouse with plenty of space and ample washing facilities ,pleasant encloses garden .The care taker on hand to deal with any problems . It was however comfortable but very basic with the kitchen missing many items , the living room was laid out poorly and the lighting inadequate. It was unfortunate the fridge wasn't working on arrival which meant cooking our food straight way until an alternative could be sourced and having to use the care takers fridge . The septic tank has a strong odour from it as does the heating system

Needs a little TLC. radiators don't all work properly neither did the freezer.

    Response from:

Response on behalf of the owner: Thank you for your comments, 'This property is in the country so obtaining replacement white goods can be very difficult if they break down unexpectedly. The fridge/freezer broke down after the guests arrived but the caretaker immediately obtained a cooling unit from the local hotel and gave them space in one of the estate freezers. He then tried to get a replacement in both Oban and Lochgilphead without success and finally drove the 100 miles each way to Glasgow where he obtained one. The new fridge freezer was operational within a few hours.'
