Spacious, family cottage with original features and enclosed courtyard, Tattenhall, Chester Zoo and Beeston Castle all close by.

Easy driving distance to the city of Chester

Sympathetically converted farm buildings, retaining original features, offering a very good standard of accommodation. Located at the end of an unmade road, they sit quietly in this rural community, yet they are within easy driving distance of the city of Chester, famous for being a walled city with its unique half timbered galleried shops and its Victorian Eastgate clock - said to be the most photographed timepiece in the world after Big Ben. Shops, restaurants and history are all to be found here. Chester has the largest amphitheatre in Britain, a 10th century cathedral, two renowned museums - the Grosvenor and Military Museums, and not forgetting the zoo! The walk around the walls is approximately 2 miles and offers a birdseye view of the city centre with views across to Wales’ magnificent mountains. Cheshire Oaks retail outlet village is a short drive away. At the end of the lane is the Beachin therapy swimming pool for dogs. Malpas, with its magpie style houses, Beeston with its castle, Tattenhall where the Cheshire Farm Dairy ice cream is made and Farndon which links Cheshire to Wales by a sandstone bridge are all an easy drive. Cheshire is also the gateway to some of the finest English countryside and Welsh borderlands. Golf is available within 2 miles of the property. Shop 5 miles, pub 2 miles.

Ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with tiled floor. Second living room. Utility room. Separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 2 double, one with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin. Bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and toilet.

Drift house suited our needs, the owners were very helpful providing a cot and high chair, and were very approachable. The house was a good size, plenty of room downstairs for 4 adults and an infant. Three good sized bedrooms and family bathroom the ensuite was okay. Good parking.

Very spacious and comfortable accommodation. Hopefully the gas boiler has now been repaired but the owner came promptly when called to temporarily fix the problem. A little too far out if Chester for us but very well situated if you don't mind being isolated. The kitchen is very well appointed. All in all, an excellent cottage.

We had a great stay at The Drift House, used for convenience rather than a holiday as we were waiting to purchase a property in Chester and stayed for four weeks. I must say though is it a great location for getting to Wales, Liverpool and into Chester and also not far from Shropshire if you are staying for a holiday. The owners Ruth and Shaun are lovely and if there is anything you are unsure about they are close by for assistance.

The Drift House was everything we expected. Booking a cottage on a farm at the end of an unmade road, it was what we expected. Unfortunately the local village doesn't have a shop so you do have to travel 10-15 to Wrexham or 20-25 to Chester but this fully explained in the details both online and in the book left for us in the cottage. As for the cottage itself, it was clean, well equipped and very warm (that was without the heating on too). It was very spacious (my daughter asked if we could buy it because she had her own living room) and had parking right outside. Everything you could want from a holiday cottage. The only complaint (and I use that word loosely) is the shower in the en-suite wasn't very powerful so was a struggle at times and despite being an electric shower, when we tried to use it after 10.30 at night, the water wouldn't warm up. We were greeted on arrival and shown round the property which was a lovely touch as were the biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar and pint of milk left for us. That was most appreciated. Also the games in the 2nd living room were wellused by my daughter. Overall, we enjoyed our stay greatly and would happily stay there again if we were to travel to the area. Thank you for the stay.

Lovely cottage, plenty of space and very well presented. Nice small courtyard area and an extra secure garden for exercising the dog. We had a slight heating issue but this was reported and resolved quickly. The cottages are well located for Chester and surrounding areas but enough out of the way for peace and quiet. If there is a downside it's that you can't walk to a local shop or pub and have to drive everywhere but this is a very minor point. A DVD player in the 2nd living room would be good as kids and adults don't always want to watch the same things. If we were to return to the area we'd certainly consider the Drift House again.
