Welcome Cottages

Lakeside, seaside, countryside, hillside...wherever you can picture your perfect cottage, you'll find it with Welcome Cottages!

This former milking parlour is now a stylish bungalow, with wood burner and rural views, walks from the door.

Overlooking the tennis courts in the owner’s grounds, this detached holiday property began its life as a milking parlour and has now been thoughtfully converted to provide stylish holiday accommodation with glorious rural views. Walks abound from the doorstep, or relax in the sunshine and enjoy a BBQ on the Indian sandstone terrace. Light the chiminea and ward off the evening breeze, or if the weather is inclement, curl up in front of the roaring woodburner inside. Ideally placed for taking a wine tour of the East Sussex countryside, visit Carr Taylor Vineyards, almost next door, and sample their prize winning bubbly. Seddlescombe Vineyard is Britain’s premier organic vineyard, offering a selection of wines and ciders, and Chapel Down Winery, in Tenterden, also offers a medal-winning selection. The Kent and Sussex steam railway is an ideal way to explore the countryside, chug your way through 10½ miles of picturesque farmland between Bodiam Castle and Tenterden. If you are seeking the coast, Hastings is a short drive away, 5 miles, where you can watch the fishermen land their catch or explore the historic old town. Camber offers miles of golden sand dunes and makes a great spot for some kite surfing. The Cinque Port town of Rye provides antique shops, art galleries and delightful tea rooms. Visit Battle Abbey and see the spot where the course of history was changed forever. For garden lovers, visit Sissinghurst, Pashley Manor and Great Dixter. Golf is also available locally. The Eurotunnel is 40 minutes away and Dover is an hour, ideal for day trips to France. Shop, pub and restaurant ¼ mile.

Cowshed was a complete surprise. Modern, clean, airy and absolutely ideal for us three octogenarians to meet up from various points of England. Comfortable furniture and beds, plenty of kitchen equipment and crockery etc. and a quiet location added to our comfort Walks from the front door for our equally ancient dogs, local shops and nice pub also walkable to, and a good location for visiting the many interesting sights in this part of the country.

Was a great location and a great place to stay. Would be good to have table and chairs to eat at outside and also whilst the benches were OK I would prefer chairs with backs for the main dining table. Also great King size bed in the master suite but it would benefit from a super king duvet :)

I recently stayed at the Cowshed with my family (age range 1-60). The large open plan living area allowed us all to be together without being on top of one another. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very comfortable and had 5* facilities (waterfall shower, large roll top bath, under floor heating). We loved it here and will definitely return.

Stayed 3 nights recently with friends. Everyone agreed the accommodation was superb. We particularly loved the large open plan living space. Also introduced us to a new part of the country: we really enjoyed Hastings old town and Rye. Would definitely stay again.

Stunning cottage, had thought of most things required. Only minor issue was I had 2 elderly relatives with me and they would have Liked a handle or seat in the shower, but as this isn't advertised as for disabled etc, I wasn't expecting it!

Fantastic property very spacious but has a cosy feeling aswell... Just a couple of things The view from the window lovely but on the description doesn't show you have to look through pretty dower looking tennis court fencing to see the view... The tennis court was unsafe to play on as green moss therefore very slippery, also could have don with a little brighter lighting in living area.... Just a note to owner as disabled wet room needs a long handled squegy to get water back into shower as the water went everywhere.... I know it's a wet room but the water just seeped out towards the toilet and door entrance..... And a handle on the wall shower area!! Overall though we had a fab time at this property and would go back as good central location rather than view....

Fantastic place, perfect for a visit any time of the year. The property has a high end finish with wonderful fixtures and fittings. Lovely rural location in a good position for visiting local attractions including the sea front. Would definatly recommend and hope to return ourselves one day.
