We found The Cowshed a fab place to stop. We needed a property to suit a group of 8. Everyone had their own space as the place was really spacious, and the kitchen and dining area was a good place to meet up again. Location was pretty good. Out in the country but only a few minutes drive to civilisation. Place was really clean and tidy and everyone in our group was really impressed and gave it full marks.

We had a wonderful extended family holiday at the Cowshed in April. Our party comprised four generations with the eldest 89 and youngest 8 months and the property suited us all perfectly. We particularly appreciated the huge and wide dining table with plenty of room not just for place settings and all of us but also for food, drinks and serving dishes; the superbly equipped kitchen and utility room (with it's additional fridge space) the four double/king sized beds and the quiet location well set back from the main road - oh and the well stocked library! We found so much to do in the area with plenty of good walking and very friendly and helpful locals. Everyone we had dealings with seemed genuinely pleased to be showing us "their" Staffordshire and keen for us to have the best possible holiday experience. One word of caution. Those visiting with small children will need to take their own cot/high chair/baby gate and anyone unsteady on their feet needs to be aware that the "reproduction flagstone" floor in the kitchen dining area is very uneven. That aside the Cowshed is as perfect a self catering holiday retreat as you'll find anywhere.

Stayed here for my 30th birthday weekend and it was amazing. The kitchen is very well kitted out with everything you need to prepare meals for 10 people with ease. There are books, CDs, DVDs, boardgames all provided. There are 2 bathrooms upstairs as well as an en-suite, and a downstairs toilet too. Highly recommended and can't wait to go back

Perfect Base for the Peak and Alton Towers. This place is HUGE!, we cooked three course dinners each night so the kitchen and equipment was perfect.

We stayed at The Cowshed for a 50th birthday celebration weekend with a mixed age group. The property certainly had the wow factor. Spotlessly clean and everything we needed, it was the perfect place for a large group stay. We had a wonderful weekend and I cant recommend The Cowshed highly enough.

A lovely house, excellent location for lovely walking from the doorstep. Very well equipped kitchen (though a second fridge would be useful for 10 people). Bedrooms all very nice, though a hairdryer would have been nice. Also thicker curtains would be good - the rooms are VERY bright when the sun's up. There is plenty of space - huge rooms with ample space for 10. A warm, friendly welcome and a warm friendly house - great for our group of 10 adults. We had a lovely weekend and would recommend The Cowshed to others. The charge (£50) for two small dogs was by far the most expensive I have ever paid in holiday accommodation (even in hotels), but the doggies did enjoy their stay.
