The Potteries with Trentham Garden Estates, Churnet Valley and Dovedale are all within 12 miles. Market towns such as Ashbourne, Cheadle, Leek, Bakewell, Stone and Uttoxeter are all a short drive away. Two steam railways, historic places of interest such as Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House, many industrial museums and potteries are all within easy reach. Shop and pub 1 mile.

    This was an absolutely fantastic place to celebrate a special family birthday. The cottage is outstanding and simply perfect, we really couldn't have wished for anything better. The standard of the accommodation, decoration and facilities is second to none and we hope to return in the future. The cottage is set in a lovely location, with all amenities nearby and plenty of local attractions to visit. We had a lovely meal at the nearby Thornbury Hall on the Saturday night and spent a lovely day walking around Trentham Gardens. Communications with the owner were excellent. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much, we have many happy memories of a special family weekend together.

    We booked this property as a getaway with family for us to spend some quality time together but also explore some of the local sights. There was a number of days out within a very short drive (National Trust sites, Pooles Caverns, Cotton Dell etc.) all of which were well worth a visit. The property was immaculate upon arrival and was given a very warm welcome and the bottle of wine was very welcome. We loved our time in the property which was absolutely perfect and the owners could not have been more helpful. They spoke to us prior to arrival to advise us of the specific property details, local information and to address any questions we may have. I cannot recommend this property enough for large groups looking for a quiet getaway. I was personally a big fan of the log burner stove which was not necessary as the property was incredibly well insulated but wanted to use more for atmosphere

    The Cowshed is by far the best accommodation we have been to ! Absolutely superb place throughout and has everything you need for your stay! 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 1 ensuite plus marvellous lounge with 3 sofas and 55 inch TV! Gary was excellent with his chats about the Cowshed and local area. Already hoping to go back!!
