Description

A quaint cottage, centrally located in the beautiful, rural village and conservation area of St. Margaret’s at Cliffe.

We couldn't fault the cottage in any way, probably the best holiday let we have ever stayed in. Ideal location for exploring Kent. Cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay in it again.

The amount of thought, care and consideration which went into making The Cottage a place so welcoming and full of every possible comfort to the guests has to be really appreciated. From the welcome cake and pint of milk, through every homely comfort, to the loungers, clothing line and pegs in the garden – it is truly a home from home. The Cottage is set in a lovely, quiet, picture – postcard lane from long by-gone years in the centre of a pretty village and itself exudates old times charm coupled with every modern convenience. It is tastefully, traditionally furnished, yet lack nothing in comfort. All modern appliances, state of the art TV, well functioning, fast Wi-Fi, well equipped kitchen. It is exceedingly clean and well cared for. The icing on the cake must be a lovely walled courtyard garden where guests can enjoy morning coffee, soak the sun and listen to the chirping birds and bees buzzing around. The restricted size of the private parking space some guests are complaining about is a small price to pay for it all. Besides, the owners have an arrangement with close by pub and guests can park there, subject to availability, which is usually abundant, except maybe during busy evenings. As an alternative a free village car park is also close by. Sue and Jim are most welcoming hosts, live near by and are always ready to deal with any unlikely problems which may arise during the stay. On one occasion I had a misfortune to lock myself out in the garden and they were here rescuing me within ten minutes. Thank you Sue and Jim, Maria

We really enjoyed staying at this well equipped cottage including comfy bed and seating etc. with a very private flowery court yard. We feel the owners have gone the extra mile to make the cottage special, and the village location is lovely and ideal for touring Kent. Plenty of entertainment on the TV. The cake, tea bags and fresh milk on arrival were a great touch. All in all, we loved our two weeks at the cottage and are planning to stay again.
